YumYum Candy Review - August 2018 - Canadian Candy Subscription Box

This box was provided complimentary for review.

What is it? YumYum Candy
How Much? Starts at $19.99 for I-Joy and $33.99 for We-Joy. Shipping $4.99 per box. Prices in Canadian dollars.
What’s in it?  Carefully selected full size candy assortment from around the world

YumYum Candy is a Canadian subscription box that sends a monthly assortment of candies from around the world. There's flavours to satisfy each of your taste buds. Items will be unique, nostalgic, hard-to-find, or ridiculously yummy. The I-Joy box contains 7-10 full size items and the We-Joy box, meant for sharing, contains 12-15 full size items. Boxes ship between the 20th - 25th each month.

The box was heavier this month!

The product list is on a sticker affixed to the inside lid.

First look!

I-Bulk Bubblegum Chalks
Coated in sour sugar, these little squares taste of bubblegum.

I-Bulk Sweet Bananas
These soft bananas are coated in a light dusting of sugar.

Lilt Soda - Pineapple & Grapefruit
This fruity soda pop comes from the UK. It's tropically delicious and perfect with vodka!

Black Jack
These are aniseed flavoured penny chews from the UK. A old classic!

Smarties Gummi Candy
These aren't the candy coated chocolate Smarties Canadians are familiar with. Instead these gummy Smarties come in assorted fruit flavours. They're like wine gums.

Mentos Delight
All the way from the Netherlands, this assorted pack includes tasty flavours like vanilla, caramel, and hazelnut.

Milky Way Midnight Dark
This dark chocolate nougaty bar is the best thing I've had in a while.

Orange Smarties
These are the only smarties to actually have a flavour. The shell is infused with natural orange oil. Tasty. These guys come from the UK.

Wimpy? Fiery
This classic Snickers bar is infused with chilies for a fiery kick!

Sweet Tarts Mini Chewy
These mini Sweet Tarts are chewy and bursting with sweet and tart fruit flavours.

Skittles Brightside
This special edition pack includes fun flavours like kiwi, banana, watermelon, Paradise Punch, and Pink Lemonade.

Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups
These peanut butter cups have crispy, crunchy Butterfinger inside!

M&M Snack Mix
This snack mix contains plain M&M's, almonds, and little pretzel balls. It's very tasty and perfect for sweet & salty fans.

Kool-Aid Blue Raspberry Lemonade
I haven't had Kool-Aid in ages, probably since I was a kid!

Charleston Chew
This retro candy is best enjoyed chilled. It's a nougat centre en-robed in chocolate. Yum!

Tunnock's Teacake
This guy arrived a little damaged from the heat. A stint in the fridge put it back together, but a little out of shape. A Tunnock's Teacake is a marshmallow with a biscuit base, coated in chocolate.

Lucas Bom Vasco
This is a sweet and hot bubblegum candy from Mexico.

Lion Bar White
This bar features sweet caramel, crispy wafer, and cereal pieces covered in white chocolate.

Hi-Chew Apple
Hi-Chew is a Japanese classic. It starts out like taffy but then starts to melt in your mouth.

The August We-Joy box from YumYum Candy included 19 items! I think that's the most I've received. With 19 items, the per item cost is down to $1.79 which is awesome. The value has improved quite a bit since I first started reviewing this box.

I mentioned last month that YumYum hasn't updated their social media feeds in quite some time. No change this month. It's not quite a red flag yet, but it's definitely something to keep an eye on. I'd like to see them more engaged with their customers and social media is the best way to do that.
