Topbox Review - August 2018 - Canadian Beauty Subscription Box

Canadian Box Addict pays for this box. This review was written by Hayley.

What is it? Topbox
How Much? $12 per month, plus tax. Shipping included. Prices in Canadian dollars.
What’s in it? 4 deluxe beauty samples

Topbox is a Canadian subscription service that sends four deluxe samples from top beauty brands each month. Topbox is the premiere monthly beauty subscription box in Canada and at only $12 per month, plus tax, it's an affordable option for those just getting into the world of beauty boxes. Topbox tends to include a lot of skincare products with some cosmetics. They tend to feature higher end drugstore and department store brands.

You can see all our previous Topbox reviews here.

I received the regular Topbox this month. Each month you are asked to fill out a survey and you can bid to receive a Prive Topbox, or you can opt to get a regular one. I opted for a regular Topbox this month. I received the shipping information for my August Topbox a few days before it was delivered and I received my digital product card before I received my Topbox. This Digital Product Card is delivered via email to save the trees!

First look!

Beautaniq Beauty Fill + Tame Brow Gel in Clear - Full Size ($12)
An innovative lightweight water-based formula enriched with Aloe Vera which defines and fills in the look of brows while controlling and shaping without flaking or fading.
I’m not that into clear brow gels, but this one got rave reviews.

Pure Cosmetics Silicone Pro Blender - Full Size ($11)
An innovative, washable and reusable alternative that makes wasting cosmetics a thing of the past. The Silicone Pro Blender allows for effective spreading and blending of liquid/cream cosmetics, while using only half the amount of product associated with traditional application with a sponge or brush.
This is a latex-free, non porous silicone blender. We received a similar one a few months back, and I personally prefer my Beauty Blender.

AvryBeauty Shea Butter Socks - Full Size ($3.49)
Deeply moisturizes dry feet.
These are weird, but you bet I’m going to try them! Especially after wearing my Birkenstocks all Summer, my feet are hard and in need of some TLC. See the hilarious photo below.

Don’t try to walk in these. You might slip!

Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer ($11.67)
An oil-free, mattifying face primer that instantly reduces the look of flaws and pores, and it controls oil for up to eight hours.
I love Smashbox products and have really been into primers lately. This one did work on my dry-combination skin, but it has had horrible reviews for oily skin. It did great things for me and helped to keep my makeup in place all day.

My August Topbox included four products. The retail value of the products is $38.15, which is a lower value for Topbox. We have three full size products and one deluxe sample. It's a nice mix of products this month with foot care, tools and cosmetics. I will only use the Smashbox primer and the Avry Beauty Shea Butter Socks in my August Topbox. Overall, I am satisfied with this Topbox. What did you get in yours?
