Topbox Review - July 2018 - Canadian Beauty Subscription Box

Canadian Box Addict pays for this box. This review was written by Hayley.

What is it? Topbox
How Much? $12 per month, plus tax. Shipping included. Prices in Canadian dollars.
What’s in it? 4 deluxe beauty samples

Topbox is a Canadian subscription service that sends four deluxe samples from top beauty brands each month. Topbox is the premiere monthly beauty subscription box in Canada and at only $12 per month, plus tax, it's an affordable option for those just getting into the world of beauty boxes. Topbox tends to include a lot of skincare products with some cosmetics. They tend to feature higher end drugstore and department store brands.

You can see all our previous Topbox reviews here.

I received the regular Topbox this month. Each month you are asked to fill out a survey and you can bid to receive a Prive Topbox, or you can opt to get a regular one. I opted for a regular Topbox this month. I received the shipping information for my July Topbox a few days before it was delivered and I received my digital product card the same day of delivery. It arrived later this month, it was here by the 17th.

This Digital Product Card is delivered via email to save the trees!

First look!

This Dove Exfoliating Body Polish sample was in with my other products. It smells fantastic! I was happy to try it as I was curious about body polishes.

SKIN&CO Roma Truffle Therapy Whipped Cleansing Cream (30ml, $4.80)
Using a small dollop, gently massage product onto face and neck in circular motion, without using water. Gently remove cleanser with warm water. For dry skin in need of TLC, wipe excess product with cotton round and follow with Truffle Therapy Toner to complete cleansing routine.
I have received a lot of Skin&Co products recently, but they seem to do the trick. I don't care for the scent but it's not so bad to me that it's a deal breaker. This cleanser works well and leaves my skin feeling awesome.

earthsafe™ Shampoo & Conditioner (60ml, $1.20/ea)
Contains plant-derived ingredients to clean your hair naturally, without stripping it of natural oils.
This was my first experience with unscented shampoo and conditioner and it wasn’t a bad one. The shampoo and conditioner left my hair clean, shiny and soft. These are formulated with Inca Inchi Oil to add strength and shine, Green Tea to help boost lustrous hair and Aloe Vera to naturally condition and repair damaged hair.

The Beauty Crop Fabulous Flocking Lashes Mascara - Full Size ($26)
With one sweep of the wand, Fabulous Flocking Lashes Mascara coats every single lash from root to tip with it's gentle, smudge and clump-free formula effortlessly.
I have a mostly hate relationship with waterproof mascaras and every mascara that leaves you a black, smudgy mess to some extent, by the end of the day. HOWEVER not this time! It’s so easy to remove, lasts all day, doesn’t get gummy or gross.

Pretty Woman Nail Polish - Full Size ($7.99)
1. Clean your hands and rest your elbow on a table to steady your hand, 2. Apply a base coat of your choice, 3. Follow with one coat of nail color and let dry, 4. Add a second coat of nail color and let dry, 5. Finish with a clear top coat of your choice and let dry.
This is a repeat from the Summer Luxe Box. I don’t like polish but it’s a nice colour, perfect for summer.

My July Topbox included five products and a bonus sample. The retail value of the products is $40.90, which is a lower value for Topbox. We have two full size products, two travel size and one deluxe sample. It's a nice mix of products this month with skincare, haircare, nailcare and cosmetics. I will use everything in my July Topbox except the nail polish. Overall, I am happy with this Topbox. What did you get in yours?
