Subscribers will receive 3-6 full size items, with a value up to $50 US. Boxes ship mid-month. Your subscription will start the month you subscribe.

For those really passionate about the outdoors and adventure, Cairn has a higher end box called Cairn Obsidian. Cairn Obsidian ships quarterly in March, June, September, and December. Each box is priced at $249.95 and will include $300 worth of products. It's similar to the monthly box but will include bigger and higher priced items. Cairn guarantees that there will be no product overlap between the two boxes.

Every box includes a different saying on the inside!

First peek!

First look!

Cairn Scout is the monthly newsletter and product info sheet. According to Cairn's Facebook page, there were three box variations that went out this month. You can see them all in their unboxing video here. Subscribers received the box that best fit their profile.

The theme for November is "Carrying You Through Winter", and again, this is just one of three versions that were sent this month.

FITZIP by FITKICKS Waist Pack in Black ($7.99)
The FitZip waist pack is so stretchable you will not believe how much you can carry! This handy pack can fit a water bottle or large mobile phone (phablet). The interior has a water-resistant lining to protect your valuables from sweat. And the flush-shut zipper feels smooth, stays shut tight, and provides a reflective surface to on-coming lights. The elastic belt has a sturdy snap closure; the FitZip adjusts from about 27 to 40 inches. Pouch is approximately 11.5 x 1.5 inches when empty.

This waist pack is genius. It's perfect for running and hiking to keep you hands free, but it would also be great for travel. That's what I have in mind for this baby.

Despite being quite small and discreet, it opens ip to hold a fair bit.

Live Fresh Essential Wipes Travel Tube ($4.99)
These compressed towels need less than an ounce of water to turn into an refreshing wet towelette. They are infused with essential oils and they're free of alcohol and preservatives. They are also biodegradable. Another item perfect for outdoors, or for travel!

Salazon Chocolate Bars (0.75oz x 2, ~$2)
These dark chocolate bars are a delicious source of energy whether you're on the trail or on the slopes. The dark chocolate with a hint of sea salt is quite nice!

Trailheads Women's Space Dye Knit Ponytail Headband ($28.37)
Fashion meets Performance: beautiful basket weave knit pattern featuring a distinctive space dye yarn combines with a fleece lining to provide warmth and comfort. The subtle slit opening measures nearly 2 inches - easily wide enough to accommodate most ponytails. Or, you can choose to sport this headband without a ponytail - the design works either way.

This 4" wide headband is perfect for cold winter days. It covers the ears completely and has a cozy fleece lining inside. The best feature is the ponytail cut out. Genius design!

My November collection from Cairn included five items, valued around $43 US. This box costs $34.95, including shipping to Canada. I'm really happy with this collection. I subscribed to Cairn hoping to get some unique and useful outdoor gear that would do double duty for travel. Two items this month fit the bill, the waist pack and the essential wipes. The headband will be great for winter, and the chocolate... well it didn't last long.
