First look!

To embrace the last month of summer, Amoda sent out a box of iced teas! The included teas can be enjoyed hot or cold, but I plan to try them all iced. For instructions on how to cold steep teas, check the Amoda blog here. I followed Amoda's directions and steeped a cup of each for 24 hours. Once steeped, I strained them then topped up the cup with cold water and added a touch of sweetener.

Aromatica Fine Teas Peach Ginger Rose
A classic combination for tea, peach and ginger is a classic flavoured tea - one of the first to become widely popular. We’ve found one with a subtle twist - rose petals. It's hard to resist juicy peach, spicy ginger and perfumed rose. A flavour-packed tea perfect for sipping hot or as an iced tea.
Ingredients: Ceylon black tea, chopped ginger, rose petals & natural flavour.
I loved this one! The peach aroma was so strong, even after brewing. The ginger was very subtle. It worked perfectly as an iced tea.

Amoda Tropical Pear
Green pears are delicious and refreshing and when mixed with white tea, tropical fruit, a few dark berries and floral hints, you get an incredible blend for hot or iced tea.
Ingredients: Bai Mu Dan white tea, green tea, pineapple, apple, strawberry, currant, rose petals, hibiscus, rosehips, marigold & mallow flowers, natural flavour.
I didn't catch the pear or other fruit flavours in this one. It just tasted like a bright and fresh green tea.

Niuka Daily Balance
A full bodied blend, delicious hot or iced. Floral, creamy, sweet with bright citrus notes. This is an adaptogenic (stress balancing) blend of herbs that benefits overall balance and healthy functioning for your body's vital systems.
Ingredients: Sarsaparilla root, Hibiscus blossom, Spearmint leaf, Rose petal, Ashwagandha root, Codonopsis root, Astragalus root, Sage leaf. (caffeine free)
I like hibiscus but this one was too earthy for my tastes. It might be better as a hot tea.

Naked Teas Galore Berry Green
A tried and true combination - berries and green tea. Juicy red & dark berries and organic, beautifully curled green tea. This green tea is actually from Sri Lanka, mostly known for it’s black Ceylon tea. A staple in any tea lovers cupboard.Ingredients: Premium Ceylon Green Tea, Goji Berries, Juniper Berries, Cranberries, Currants, Blue Cornflowers, Natural Flavouring.
The berry flavour is very subtle, but I like it.

The August Amoda Tea included four fruity teas, perfect for enjoying over ice. This is a great box to end the summer.
