Project Candy Box Review - May 2017 - Canadian Candy Subscription Box + PROMO CODE

This box was provided complimentary for review.

What is it? Project Candy Box
How much? $27/month, plus tax and $4.95 shipping. Prices in Canadian dollars.
What's in it? A surprise assortment of at least 10 different candy items

Project Candy Box is a Canadian candy subscription service that sends a monthly box of sweets from around the world. Each month you will receive an assortment of different candies and treats, tied together with a theme. Each box will include at least 10 different full size items! For those that want a little less, there is also the Mini Candy Box, which offers 6-7 full size snacks, for $19 per month, plus shipping.

Every month will be a different experience and a fun, new way to sample new treats. From sweet to sour, gummy to chocolate, old to new and near to far, our candy combinations have been carefully crafted to wow your taste buds.

Each month, subscribers have a chance to win a "Golden Ticket", which gets them a free box! If you are a winner, your Golden Ticket will be tacked to the inside lid.

Project Candy Box does not include a product card. Instead, the items can be found online here. I am writing this review on May 31st though, and the page still has not been updated, so I will wing it. The box was very full this month. That's a good sign!

Caramel Corn Peanut Snack
This is a puffed corn snack with peanuts. Now quite the same as true caramel corn, but it was quite tasty!

Fini Mini Hooplas
These are mini licorice bites, with fun fruit flavours.

Almond Roca
Almond Roca has a buttery almond centre, a coco shell, and crushed almond coating. It's a classic treat.

Cinnamon Bun Bites
These little bits are so good. They really do taste like cinnamon buns. This company also makes Cookie Dough Bites.

Sweet Tarts Mini Chewy Tenders
Sweet Tarts are a fave of mine, but these ones are chewy and gummy instead of the typical hard, chalky style. Lemon is my favourite!

Troll Sour Gummi Crunchers
This is a new candy, and oh my goodness, are they ever sour. The outside is a crunchy, sour shell. Once you get inside it becomes chewy and more sweet.

Power Poppers Funky Foam Liquid Marshmallow
I have never seen anything like this, and it scares me a little! I'm going to try it as an icing on a cookie or something.

Juicy Drop Taffy
This taffy is another strange item. It's a chewy taffy and a sour gel in one. Squeeze the gel onto the taffy, and enjoy.

Fritt
Fritt is from Germany. It's a soft, chewy raspberry flavoured gum-like candy. At first I thought it was gum, but once chewed it starts to dissolve away rather than come together like gum.

Gobstopper Chewy Tenders
These jawbreakers change colours and flavours in your mouth. The lemon one started lemony then changed to orange. I liked the texture better than regular Gobstoppers. No breaking of jaws here!

The May box from Project Candy Box included 10 full size candies. Based on the monthly price, it works out to $2.70 per item, which is totally reasonable. I've never see or heard of most of these items before, so it's a great way to discover and try new sweets and treats.
