*** As of June 2017, this company is closed. ***

What is it? Vancity Box
How Much? $49.95/month. Free shipping in BC! Prices in Canadian dollars.
What’s in it? 5-8 handmade, artisan, and local products made by BC vendors.

Vancity Box is Canadian subscription box focusing on handmade artisan products from Vancouver, BC and the surrounding area. With Vancity Box, you will get 5-8 products, with a retail value of up to $80. Items range from clothing, accessories, snacks, knits, scarves, socks, soaps, body lotion, creams, beef jerky, art pieces, and things you can only get in Vancouver.

Living in Vancouver for so many years made us fall in love with everything it has to offer. Whether it be the nature in our backyard, countless types of foods and restaurants, active and healthy lifestyle choices, or the number of small businesses that make up more than 90% of companies in BC. We can really agree that it is the best place to live!

Vancity Box has never included a product card and I feel this is a missed opportunity. The majority of the products featured are from small, independent artisans and businesses. A little blurb on each product would help promote these great local artisans and get them more exposure, even if it's sent by e-mail, instead of a traditional printed card.

Kenzie Cards Mother's Day Card ($7)
Kenzie Cards are hand-painted and feature "a clever combination of sweet illustrations and playful wording".  Check out the full line on Etsy. Kenzie also creates custom designs, which is perfect for weddings and baby related events!

Sealuxe Ocean Floor Spa Bar ($8)
Vancity Box has featured Sealuxe products a few times, and it's always welcome. This soap bar is made with seaweed, sea salt, and deep sea mud.

Pinch Hand Poured Vanilla + Mint Candle ($20)
Pinch  Skincare is based in Langley and creates all-natural deodorants, lotions, and soaps. They also have these gorgeous hand-poured soy wax candles. This Vanilla + Mint might be custom to Vancity Box because I don't see this scent available for sale. It smells so good. They have a Coconut + Grapefruit scent that I would love to get my hands on!

This company is based in Kamloops. They create fun animal and nature inspired accessories and art pieces. This enamel pin makes a statement! I love their "All the Feels" pin too!

K. Treber Hand Sketched Wood Magnets (2 Minis, $12)
These magnets are made from BC branches found in nature. They are hand sketched, signed, and varnished. Each one is different. Keishia Treber is based in Kamloops and creates gorgeous nature inspired art featuring Canadian landscapes and animals.

The May Vancity Box included five items, valued at $59 Canadian. This is easily my most favourite Vancity Box to date. The products are fantastic and I discovered four new local brands and products made by talented BC artisans. The card gives this box a bit of a Mother's Day theme, and all these products would be perfect as Mother's Day gifts! The candle is my favourite item this month.

If you want to give Vancity Box a try, you can save 15% off your first box using promo code CDNBOXADDICT15 at checkout. Subscribe before May 20th to receive the June box.
