What is it? Topbox
How Much? $12 per month, plus tax. Shipping included. Prices in Canadian dollars.
What’s in it?  4 deluxe beauty samples

Topbox is a Canadian subscription service that sends four deluxe samples from top beauty brands each month. Topbox is the premiere monthly beauty subscription box in Canada and at only $12 per month, plus tax, it's an affordable option for those just getting into the world of beauty boxes. Topbox tends to include a lot of skincare products with some cosmetics. They tend to feature higher end drugstore and department store brands. You can expect to see Lise Watier, Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, and Benefit, along with some new and niche brands.

You can see all our previous Topbox reviews here.

I received the regular Topbox this month. Each month you are asked to fill out a survey and you can bid to receive a Prive Topbox, or you can opt to get a regular one. I opted for a regular Topbox this month. I received the shipping information for my May Topbox a few days before it was delivered and  once delivered, I received my digital product card by e-mail.

This Colgate Optic White Toothbrush and Whitening Pen sample was tossed in the mailing bag along with the organza bag containing the products listed on my digital product card. It must be a bonus this month, since everyone received one and it isn't included on the digital product card. This is the fourth month Topbox has included a bonus item lately. I’m not complaining!

Colgate 360 Optic White Toothbrush + Built-In Whitening Pen ($12.97)
I replace my toothbrush often and who doesn’t like white teeth? I am happy to try this Optic White Toothbrush and Whitening Pen.

DOCTOR BABOR DERMA CELLULAR Collagen Booster Cream (15 ml, $46.20)
Apply mornings and evenings, after cleansing, to the face, neck and décolleté. Massage in gently.
This is Facial cream for restructuring and plumping the skin from the inside out. Doctor Babor products are super pricey, so I am intrigued to try it. This cream is supposed to give you “smooth and youthful-looking skin”.

Pur~lisse Blue Lotus + White Tea Sheet Mask ($8.00)
After cleansing skin, unfold mask and gently place on face. Relax & remove mask after 15-20 minutes. Don’t rinse- let your skin absorb the essence by massaging the skin.
Sheet masks are awesome, especially ones that fight free radicals, improve skin texture while brightening and firming skin, leaving the complexion healthy, beautiful and youthful-looking. I need to make more time to use the sheet masks I acquire, and I will start by using this one.

The Beauty Crop Lighting Crew Highlighting Cream (10 ml, $16)
Lighting Crew will perk up your complexion, accentuate the features you love and leave you with a natural radiance. Packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants derived from Pineapple and Green Tea, our Highlighting Cream will add a healthy, luminous glow.
Here’s another liquid highlighter; I’m intimidated that it’s liquid. The colour is gorgeous and I am going to use it (or try to).

China Glaze Nail Lacquer - Full Size ($8.95)
These unique lacquers contain China Clay as a nail hardener, the same material that gives porcelain its shiny finish.
I get my nails done in a salon so I won’t be using this polish. I love the colour though and China Glaze is a fantastic brand!

My May Topbox included four products and a bonus product. The retail value of the products is $79.15, which is a fantastic value for Topbox. With the Colgate 360 Optic White Toothbrush, the total value is just over $90. We have one three full size products, one deluxe sample size and the bonus item. It's a nice mix of products this month with skincare, hygiene products, nail products and cosmetics. I will use everything except the polish. What did you get in your Topbox?

  1. I like everything that was inside this month's Topbox.

  2. I was wondering if you've ever thought about doing give aways of the stuff your're not going to use to your subscribers?

    1. I haven't considered doing this because everything I received is put to use close to home - either shared with friends, family, and co-workers or donated to charity.

      From my FAQ page:

What do you do with all the products you receive?
Most of what I can't use myself gets shared, gifted, or donated. I help run a toy drive every holiday season to support a local charity. Toys and kids items go directly to the charity. Other items get bundled into gift baskets to auction off, with the proceeds going directly to the charity. (I've posted about this on Instagram before).

You can also read here to see how my Bark Box referrals helped send 2 years work of Bark Box to my local animal shelter:

Whenever the opportunity arises, I run giveaways sponsored by various subscription boxes. I'm hoping to do some more subscription box giveaways in the new year.
