Ellebox Co. Review - April 2017 - Canadian Time of the Month Subscription Box + PROMO CODE

This box was provided complimentary for review & this post contains affiliate links.

What is it? Ellebox Co.
How Much? $10 or $35 per month, depending on plan you choose. Save on longer terms. Shipping extra. Prices in Canadian dollars.
What’s in it? Organic tampons and pads, plus hand curated comfort and wellness goods

Ellebox Co. is a Canadian "time of the month" subscription box that sends everything you need to survive your monthly cycle. Ellebox Co. aims to revolutionize your period by ensuring you receive a box in time, for your time, every time. There are two subscription options to choose from. Shipping is an additional $5 per box and all prices are in Canadian dollars.

  • The Comfort Box ($35/month) offers your choice of organic tampons and/or pads, chocolate, tea, and two self care gifts. Shipping is $10 per box.
  • The Necessities Box ($10/month) offers your choice of organic tampons and/or pads. Shipping is $3 per box.
All boxes come with up to 20 feminine hygiene products. You can select only pads, only tampons, or a mix.

Since my last review, Ellebox changed their box. It's smaller, which helps save on shipping costs.

Ellebox now has a blog called The Periodical. It's full of women-focused articles about health, hygiene, and life.

The inside bottom of the box has printed information about organic products, and a warning about Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS).

My box included 10 regular organic tampons and 10 organic pads. They are natracare brand. A 10-pack of regular tampons retails for $3.50 and a 14-pack of regular pads with wings retails for around $5.99.

Red Lemon Natural Living Eat My Dust Dry Shampoo ($12)
A smart beauty-hack for rushed mornings! Or to extend periods between wet washes for great hair health. A Dry Shampoo that also doubles as a Volumizing Powder. Adds great volume with staying power. Plus it's all natural, easy to use, and washes out like a breeze. Win-ning!
Red Lemon is based in Abbotsford, BC! The base of this dry shampoo is arrowroot powder, and it's infused with lavender and geranium. It smells quite strong.

Red Lemon BeYOUtiful Daytime Face Serum ($22)
A silky daytime Moisturizer that nourishes and hydrates the skin without clogging pores. Made with regenerative Argan oil and fortified with Gamma-Linolenic Acid (sourced from pure Borage oil) to protect and fight against free-radical damage. With added therapeutic essential oils, this Daytime Serum will leave your face feeling soft, balanced and hydrated.
This serum is infused with rose and grapefruit oil. It smells lovely and feels very hydrating.

Hagensborg Chocolate Truffle Pig White & Dark Raspberry Truffle Bar ($3.50)
The Truffle Pig Chocolate Bar. Wallow in European chocolate.
This chocolate company is local, near Vancouver. They source fair trade chocolate to make their decadent bars.

Tea Sparrow Cardamon Vanilla Rooibos Tea (~$5)
From tea growers to blenders to world leading sommeliers, our community includes people at every step of the process. We taste dozens of teas a month, with no affiliation to blenders, and chose the blends that inspire us most to share with you. We take pride in delivering a variety of world class blends to your door every month.
Tea Sparrow is a Vancouver based tea subscription service. I've been reviewing them on and off since 2013. Click here to see all my Tea Sparrow reviews.

The April Ellebox included an assortment of 20 pads and tampons, plus four extras. The retail value of just the gift items is over $42 Canadian, so when you factor in the hygiene products, the value is well over $50 Canadian. This box really does send everything you need, when you need it. The chocolate and tea offer a bit of comfort and the natural body care products offer a much-needed bit of pampering.
