What is it? Topbox
How Much? $12 per month, plus tax. Shipping included. Prices in Canadian dollars.
What’s in it?  4 deluxe beauty samples

Topbox is a Canadian subscription service that sends four deluxe samples from top beauty brands each month. Topbox is the premiere monthly beauty subscription box in Canada and at only $12 per month, plus tax, it's an affordable option for those just getting into the world of beauty boxes. Topbox tends to include a lot of skincare products with some cosmetics. They tend to feature higher end drugstore and department store brands. You can expect to see Lise Watier, Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, and Benefit, along with some new and niche brands.

You can see all our previous Topbox reviews here.

I received the regular Topbox this month. Each month you are asked to fill out a survey and you can bid to receive a Prive Topbox, or you can opt to get a regular one. I opted for a regular Topbox this month. I received the shipping information for My April Topbox a few days before it was delivered - this is an improvement as for the last few months I’d been receiving it after or on the same day it was delivered. This Garnier Sheet Mask and the L'Oréal samples were tossed in the mailing bag along with the organza bag containing the products listed on my digital product card. They must be a bonus this month, since everyone received one and it isn't included on the digital product card. Topbox has been including a lot of bonus items lately - which is awesome and appreciated!

This Digital Product Card showed up a few days early as a Spoiler Alert - don’t open the email if you want to be surprised.

 First look!

Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask - (Full Size, $4.50)
I’m excited to give this Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask a try as my skin is in need of some TLC after the winter we’ve had.

L’Oreal Hydra Genius Samples
These are tiny samples but I’m sure I’ll get the drift. Upon contact with the skin the serum is supposed to turn into water to provide 72 hours of hydration.

Cake The ‘Do Gooder Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray - (Travel Size, $10)
Spray generously into hair in sections, concentrating on scalp and roots. Lightly brush through.
Have I ever mentioned how much I love dry shampoo? Well, I do and this Cake brand smells incredible with hints of vanilla, caramel and citrus. I love that Cake is a vegan brand and this dry shampoo actually works very well.

LARITZY Cosmetics Lip Pencil in Retro Red - (Full Size, $18)
This creamy lip pencil can be worn alone or under your favorite lip gloss or lipstick for long-lasting color.
LARITZY’s products have great staying power. I love that this liner is creamy and can be worn on it’s own. The colour is beautiful, but I will save it for the fall. I was also given a promo code for 20% off.

MAKE UP FOR EVER SENS'EYES Waterproof Sensitive Eye Cleanser - (25 ml, $10.83)
A multitasking makeup remover for sensitive eyes that removes the most stubborn waterproof makeup in one swipe.
My eyes are quite sensitive so I’m excited to give this cleanser a try; hopefully it lives up to it’s claims as I’m always in search of something to remove my waterproof mascara without ripping out my eyelashes.

La Roche-Posay Micellar Water ULTRA - (50 ml, $5)
Use on a cotton. ULTRA efficacy on make-up removal. ULTRA gentle cleansing.
Another cleanser? I’ll give it a shot as it’s also supposed to be gentle.

My April Topbox included four products, a bonus product and some bonus samples. The retail value of the products is $43.83, which is a good value for Topbox. With the bonus Garnier Sheet Mask and the L'Oreal samples, I estimate the total value is just under $50. We have one two full size products, one travel size and some sample sized. It's a good mix of products this month with skincare, body products, hair products and cosmetics. I’m obsessed with the dry shampoo! Overall, this proves to be yet again a very affordable Beauty subscription.

  2. This was ny first Box.I got. Joico Curl Perfected Mix, a Came dry shampoo, a Lartizy lip liner and a Jing ai crayon lipstick. The extras, Garnier and L'oreal too. I was so excited, but I did not like the dry shampoo as I feel it did nothing for my hair. I have oily hair and I really hopes it worked. I did not like the liner either. I liked the rest. I am excited to get the May box. :)
