What is it? The Zoe Report Box of Style
How Much? $100/quarter, plus $15 shipping to Canada. Prices in US dollars. Canadian import tax/duty may be an extra cost, charged as a COD.
What’s in it? Fashion & beauty picks from celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe valued over $350

Box of Style is a luxurious seasonal subscription curated by The Zoe Report Editor-in-Chief, Rachel Zoe, and her team. Each season, get a surprise delivery of stylish fashion and beauty finds valued over $350. Items come from established designers, niche brands, and exclusively-designed collaborations. Each box contains one "Hero Item", which makes up the bulk of the value, plus a selection of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle products.

Spoilers and reviews have been floating around for months, but since I was away during the spoiler period, I missed out on some of the previews. This box shipped a bit later than most, so I only received it a week ago. I didn't have any COD charges this season, but one of my readers had to pay $27 extra.

The first thing I took out of the mailing box was this Stella Artois chalice beer glass. This is a sponsored item from Stella Artois and For every glass sold, Stella & will fund five years of clean water for 1 person in a developing region. Learn more here. Canadians can click here to buy a glass for $15.99. Only subscribers over the age of 21 will receive this item (since it's sponsored by a beer company).

 Hello Gorgeous!

The info booklet includes product details and styling tips. Rachel Zoe says that this box is focused on highlighting incredible female-founded brands.

All the products are individually wrapped, which adds to the suspense and excitement!

Tribe Alive Custom Caryall ($238)
This carryall is an exclusive collaboration between Tribe Alive and Box of Style. A similar, larger style, retails for $350 US on the Tribe Alive website! Tribe Alive helps alleviate poverty among women around the world by partnering with female artists in Guatemala, Haiti, India, Honduras, and Texas. Tribe Alive pays fair-trade wages, creates safe work environments, and gives women the power to determine their own futures. That's a company I can get behind!

This bag is made in Guatemala using traditional weaving and looming techniques. This smaller version is roughly 10 inches tall and 13 inches wide. I love the diamond weave pattern and colour scheme. It's 100% cotton and genuine leather. For those interested, Tribe Alive carries a matching pouch as well! The quality is okay, but I found a major flaw with my bag. The interior zipper pocket on my bag is not stitched closed on one side, so the pocket is open to the inside lining of the bag. It's an easy fix, but for the price point, it's not a flaw I'd expect to see.

For styling tips, Rachel Zoe suggests pairing the bag with casual separates for a pulled together look while running errands. You can also use it to add a pop of print to a basic office look, or even you workout ensemble.

Symbology Scarf ($50)
Symbology is another company that employs women artisans in developing regions. Symbology aims to preserve traditional art forms like block printing, weaving, and embroidery.

This large square scarf is an exclusive for Box of Style. It's hand crafted using the traditional Indian block printing technique and features a peacock feather print which symbolizes integrity and beauty. There's no tag giving fabric composition, but I suspect it's polyester or a poly-blend. There's currently nothing like it on the Symbology website.

Rachel Zoe suggests wearing it loosely around your neck for some French flair, or tie it onto a handbag strap for a splash of colour. Another option is to tie it around your wrist as a bo-ho wrist cuff.

Adornmonde Ivo Earrings in Silver ($62)
This jewellery company was founded by a female entrepreneur with the simple purpose of designing beautiful, limited edition jewellery. These earrings are actually two looks in one. It's a modern bar bell stud design, with open circle ear jacket back. Take the hoop off for a simple barbell stud, add the hoops back to elevate your look for evening, or go edgy like Rachel Zoe suggests and wear a bar on one side and a hoop on the other. The material is nickel-free plated brass. Subscribers have a choice of silver or gold, while supplies last.

Tatcha Polished Rice Enzyme Powder ($65)
Tatcha was founded with inspiration from Geisha beauty rituals and the idea that less is more. This iconic beauty products is a water-activated enzyme powder exfoliant and cleanser of rice bran, papaya and anti-aging HADASEI-3™ Complex. Rachel Zoe says use is morning and night as your first step to a healthy glow.

BKR Glass & Silicone Water Bottle 500ml in Naked ($35)
BRK was founded by a pair of friends as an answer to cheap plastic bottles. These beautiful bottles feature small mouths, silicone sleeves, and an engineered no-leak cap. According to BKR, this bottle is a must-have beauty essential, because no beauty ritual will work if you are dehydrated.

Butter London Nail Lacquer in Piece of Cake ($18)
This polish is brand new and features a patented Shine 10x formula to promote brighter, stronger, and healthier nails. Piece of Cake is described as a soft dusty pink creme. Rachel Zoe says that a sleek mani is the ultimate finishing touch to any look and this polish is a fresh twist on bold neutrals. The booklet gives a great tip - layer Piece of Cake over white polish to make the pale pink pop!

The Spring 2017 Box of Style from The Zoe Report included six products, valued at $471 US! This box retails for $100 US, plus $15 shipping to Canada. The value is fantastic and all the products are from women-owned brands that employ and empower women. The Tribe Alive bag is my favourite item and it's sure to be on major rotation throughout spring and summer.
