Amoda Tea is a Canadian tea company, based in Vancouver. Along with an retail e-shop, they also offer a monthly tea subscription box. The goal of Amoda Tea's Monthly Box is to allow you to easily sample unique teas from many different tea blenders, sourced from across the continent. The monthly box contains sample size pouches of four different loose leaf teas that will yield 3-5 cups of tea each. Each sample pouch includes approximately 10 grams of tea. Select between the Original Tea Box or the Low Caffeine option.

The teas come inside a small mailer that fits in a condo sized mailbox. The floral design on the outside is a lovely spring design and it's perfect for Mother's Day.

 First look!

The tea box includes tasting notes for each tea, plus details steeping notes. I recently learned the importance of proper steeping, and it makes a huge difference in the flavour of the tea. The info sheet this month gives tips on cold brewing. I might give it a try!

Perfectly Pear from Sloan Fine Tea Merchants
Plucked only during a few short weeks in spring, this Bai Mu Dan white from the Fujian province of China, also known as “white peony”, pairs perfectly with the sweet succulence of Asian pear. A mouth-watering masterpiece that is both delicate and inspiring. When steeped as an iced tea, it very simply transforms into a remarkably refreshing thirst-quencher.
This was crisp with a light fruitiness. It was fantastic iced, with a bit of added sweetener.

Naked Teas Galore Strawberry Shortcake
Just like the desert, loaded with strawberry with a creamy finish.
This caffeine free rooiboos & honeybush tea contains vanilla bean and strawberry for a fruity taste and creamy finish.

Amoda Madagascar Dream
An all-natural hot chocolate inspired tea with refreshing hints of mint. We use fair-trade organic cacao shells to create this creamy delicious black tea blend.
This black tea is kicked up 10 notches with the addition of cacao shells and mint. It's a lovely after-dinner tea.

Oollo Tea Spring  Blossom Baozhong
Grown in the serene mountainous terrain of Wenshan, Taiwan. The twisted leaves produce elegant lilac and vanilla fragrances while developing delicate sweet, floral notes.
I'm not a huge fan of oollong teas, but I gave this a try. It was too floral for my tastes, but I could tell it was a quality tea blend.

The April Amoda Tea box included four tea samples, sourced from tea shops across Canada! These teas are perfect for spring, as all of them can be enjoyed hot or cold. I especially liked the Strawberry Shortcake and Madagascar Dream. The box also included 20 biodegradable paper tea filters.
