Vancity Box is Canadian subscription box focusing on handmade artisan products from Vancouver, BC and the surrounding area. With Vancity Box, you will get 5-8 products, with a retail value of up to $80. Items range from clothing, accessories, snacks, knits, scarves, socks, soaps, body lotion, creams, beef jerky, art pieces, and things you can only get in Vancouver.

Living in Vancouver for so many years made us fall in love with everything it has to offer. Whether it be the nature in our backyard, countless types of foods and restaurants, active and healthy lifestyle choices, or the number of small businesses that make up more than 90% of companies in BC. We can really agree that it is the best place to live!

Lately Vancity Box has been sending products from one company each month. I've always preferred the mixed boxes, with items from several different companies and crafters. On the other hand, the single supplier boxes are a great way to sample several different products from one brand.

The packaging has improved greatly over the last while.

No product card, but we do have a info sheet on the company and some information on how to use the products. The company for March is Le Meadow's Pantry. Based in Vancouver, Le Meadows Pantry "makes luscious jams, bold marmalades, and unruly chutneys and mostardas using old-world techniques".

Le Meadow's Pantry Banana Chocolate Jam (250ml, $11)
Banana Gone Gourmet is a decadent jam. Perfectly sweet organic bananas are cooked until smooth with 70% cocoa dark chocolate and vanilla. Traditional partners: waffle, crêpe, ice cream, bread. Unexpected partners: drizzled over fresh fruits, spread on vanilla cake or banana loaf.

In this jam the perfectly ripe red raspberries are the epitome of a summertime preserve. Pure raspberry flavour, no pectin, no lemon juice. Traditional Partners: bread, ice cream, waffle, crêpe. Unexpected Partners: Chocolate cake and crème fraîche, into a Whiskey cocktail.

The March Vancity Box included five products from Le Meadow's Pantry, a local small-batch preserving company. The retail product of these full size jars is $54 Canadian. All of these products are available online at FoodiePages.ca. I haven't tried any of these items yet, but I'm pretty excited to do some taste tests and try out the products with both the traditional pairing suggestions and the unexpected ones. I need to stock up on cheese and pastries!
