In January I posted about some expected changes to GlobeIn's subscription model. Click here for a refresher. These changes took effect starting this month with the March box. From now on, GlobeIn will offer TWO monthly themes. Active subscribers will have the option to choose between the two monthly themes. Simply login to your account and make your selection between the 1st and 5th of each month. Brand new subscribers will likely not have access to either of the new themes as they will be reserved for existing subscribers. Instead, new subscribers will be able to select from a variety of past boxes (see my past box reviews here).

The first theme for March is "Unwind".
Ahhhhh. The day is done and you’re finally home. You’re eager to relax and restore. But relaxation is not always available at the drop of a dime, especially when your mind is still racing from all the day’s demands.
This box is dedicated to the process of unwinding. And indeed, it is a process. Maybe even an art. The items in this box are geared toward leading you along the path to ease.

Step 1: Drop everything.
Step 2: Kick off your shoes, slip into a cottony mood.
Step 3: Pour yourself a glass of something nice. Step 4: Couch? Porch? Patio? Choose your place of respite.

Unwinding is a journey. Consider this box the map.
First look!

Glass Mug from Mexico ($16)
When it comes to drinking vessels, a different shape is a whole different vibe. Your glass mug, for example, is a world away from a wine glass—although filling it with wine is obviously a fine idea. Mugs, of course, are not usually glass, and that makes this piece rather unique. Less dainty than the wine glass, your mug calls to mind the kingliness of a goblet, but with an informal air that says couch much more than throne. This innovative shape took its form in Tonalá, Jalisco, a hub of glassware and pottery and home to the glass-blowing workshop Cristaluc. This is a sturdy glass mug that is perfect for beer. I may have to buy a second one when GlobeIn offers them for sale!

Pact Men's Crew Socks ($10)
You arrive home at the end of a long day, you kick off your shoes and swap dress pants or jeans for something a little more elastic. You complete your spell of softness by slipping into your new cotton socks... As your happy feet pad around the house, you’ll be glad to know that your choice of organic cotton stands in the affirmative to both environmental preservation and humane conditions for those who work in the industry, farmers and factory workers alike.
The organic cotton for these socks is grown in India and the socks are made in Turkey. Pact produces clothing that is "sweatshop free" and they donate 10% of sales to non-profits.

Matr Boomie Rosewood Eyeglass Holder from India ($18)
Funky yet functional, this wooden nose is a great way to keep track of your eyeglasses or sunglasses.
This is an interesting conversation piece for your bedside table and it's a handy item for folks who misplace their eyeglasses a lot.

Matr Boomie Catch-All Tray from India ($12)
Nothing punctuates the day like the sound of keys clattering into their home for the night. Your lovely new tray is here to be that resting place. Along with your glasses holder, your tray allows you to breezily drop your things off on entering the home with the assurance of their remaining in one reliable place. Since when was staying organized so effortless?
This is another handy item for the bedroom to collect loose change from pockets, or jewellery.

Matr Boomie Rosewood Bottle Opener from India ($6)
This simple and stylish bottle open will make a nice addition to your home bar.

The March "Unwind" box from GlobeIn included six items, valued at $65 US. This box strikes me as the perfect gift for "Dude" or "Dad", and with Father's Day coming up quickly, this would be a good one to pickup. GlobeIn curates quite a few boxes aimed at women so it was nice to see something for men this time, although women would find use and joy with all of these items as well!
