Ellebox Co. is a Canadian "time of the month" subscription box that sends everything you need to survive your monthly cycle. Ellebox Co. aims to revolutionize your period by ensuring you receive a box in time, for your time, every time. There are two subscription options to choose from. Shipping is an additional $5 per box and all prices are in Canadian dollars.
  • The Comfort Box ($35/month) offers your choice of organic tampons and/or pads, chocolate, tea, and two self care gifts. Shipping is $10 per box.
  • The Necessities Box ($10/month) offers your choice of organic tampons and/or pads. Shipping is $3 per box.
All boxes come with up to 20 feminine hygiene products. You can select only pads, only tampons, or a mix.

I last reviewed Ellebox in February, 2016 and since then, much has changed. In the past, Ellebox offered conventional feminine products, but now Ellebox focuses soley on organic pads and tampons.
Our pads and tampons are free of rayon, polyester, wood pulp and pesticides. Our products are made from certified organic cotton that is better for your health and the environment.

In other exciting news, on February 1 of this year, Ellebox appeared on Dragon's Den. Click here to see!

One thing that hasn't changed is the charitable aspect of this box. Proceeds from each sale go toward buying feminine hygiene products for those without access. I wish they specified where these products go though. I'm curious if it's local, or international.

Each month you will get 20 assorted organic pads, tampons, or both. When signing up, you get to specify if you want only pads, only tampons, or a mix. This box also included 3 bonus liners. Ellebox supplies Organyc and Natracare brand products.

Ohh Products Original Blend Premium Cocoa Mix (40g, $2.50)
This cocoa mix is gluten free and vegan friendly. This little 40 gram pouch makes 7 cups of cocoa. Ohh Products is based in Toronto.

Ondine Naturals Fresh Grapefruit Natural Soap ($6.50)
This soap is scented with grapefruit essential oil for an invigorating wash. Ondine is based on Salt Spring Island in BC!

Ativo Skincare Serenity Body Mist ($18)
Serenity body mister is a combination of essential oils to envoke a sense of serentiy and calm. Specially formulated to help with stress and the vigors of everyday. This spray can be used directly on skin or a pillow, or within a room.
Ativo is based in Vancouver and makes natural skincare and body products. This mist is made with distilled water, witch hazel, coconut oil, and essential oils. It smells pretty good.

Hagensborg Truffle Pig Crunchy Dark Almond Bar ($3.49)
Hagensborg is based in Burnaby, BC and uses direct trade cacao to produce their bars. They source the highest quality cacao from Central America and pays the farmers a premium price. You can take heart knowing you are enjoying "slave free cacao".

Ondine Naturals Pure Peppermint Lip Balm ($6)
This  lip balm is made with natural butters and oils, and scented with peppermint oil.

The January Ellebox included 23 monthly feminine supplies, plus five self care items. The retail value of the self care items is $36.50 Canadian. Add in at least another $10 to cover the organic supplies, and this box pays for itself. I've always loved how Ellebox sources local Canadian brands to fill their boxes. The extras are all high quality and indulgent. It's really a treat unboxing this one.
