Dollar Tea Club Review - January 2017 - Canadian Tea Subscription Box + PROMO CODE

This box was provided complimentary for review.
What is it? Dollar Tea Club
How Much? Starts at $12/month. Free shipping. Prices in Canadian dollars.
What’s in it? Select 1-4 50g pouches of tea. Pay for what you order. Full customizable.

Dollar Tea Club is tea subscription club based in Toronto. Each month, subscribers receive one to four 50 gram pouches of tea. Each pouch makes 10 to 20 cups of tea. Dollar Tea Club is fully customizable. You choose how much tea you receive and you select the flavours. The price is based on the number of pouches you order, starting at $12. Each month you can change your order to add more or less tea and choose new varieties. If your online TeaBox is left unchanged, you will receive the same selections each month. Dollar Tea Club "Guaran'teas" there are no hidden costs!

To get started, sign up for a free Dollar Tea Club account. Browse the tea shop and build a monthly TeaBox by choosing your desired selection of teas (up to 4). Complete the checkout process. You only pay for what you order. Your first TeaBox will be delivered between 2-8 business days, and then monthly thereafter. You can skip or cancel any time.

New subscribers receive a free tea scoop, mesh ball infuser, and paper tea filters with their first order. If more filters are required, they can be added to your monthly order. Prices start at $1.50 for 10 filters.

My trial package included three 50 gram pouches, which would cost $24. That works out to $8 per bag instead of $12, a savings of $4 per bag!

Cactus Fig (50g)
If you are looking for a bold green tea taste followed by a calming fig finish, look no more.
Ingredients: Green tea, fig pieces, aloe vera pieces, sandalwood, orange flower petals

Strawberry Shortcake (50g)
This healthy green tea packs a sweet strawberry shortcake taste.
Ingredients: Green tea, pineapple pieces, strawberry spices
I didn't taste the strawberry in here at all. It was more like a tropical green tea. Still very nice and would be great iced.

Masala Chai (50g)
A robust, full-bodied blend that embraces the natural flavor of Indian spices.
Ingredients: Black tea, cardamom seeds, ginger pieces, cloves, cinnamon pieces, black pepper

In addition to receiving 1-4 full size teas of your choice, each box also includes 3 free samples to try out. There's enough in each pouch for 1-2 cups. These are my samples for January:
  1. English Breakfast - traditional classic and robust black tea.
  2. Apple Pie - apple pieces, sultana raisins, cinnamon, red cornflower petals. Apple Pie has a light, sweet flavour. Not quite apple pie, but it's a nice after dinner tea.
  3. Full Power - peppermint, lemongrass, echinacea, cinnamon, spearmint, fennel, cardamom seed, rose-hip, ginger, burdock root, cloves, sweet blackberry leaves, black pepper.
Dollar Tea Club Tea Scoop
All new subscribers receive a free scoop in their first box!

Paper Tea Filters
Paper tea filters are great for loose leaf tea. I find them less messy than using mesh strainer style tea infusers. Dollar Tea Club sells 10, 15, and 20 packs of filters.

Mesh Tea Infuser Ball
Along with the tea scoop, all new subscribers will receive a small tea infuser ball in their first box. It's the kind with a chain that clips around the handle of your mug.

My January TeaBox from Dollar Tea Club included three 50g pouches of quality loose leaf tea. It also included three 10-15g samples, a tea scoop, infuser, and tea filters. The later three come in your first package only, but the three samples are included every month! This is a really great subscription for tea lovers. I like that it's customizable so you get just the right amount of your favourite varieties of tea.
