This box was provided complimentary for review and this post contains affiliate links.

** Benefit Basket ended as of January 2017. Click here to check out GlobeIn's Artisan Box.**
What is it? GlobeIn Benefit Basket
How Much? $19.95/month. Additional $12 shipping per box. Prices in US dollars.
What’s in it? A handcrafted good nestled inside a handwoven basket

Each month, GlobeIn delivers the Artisan Gift Box, a collection of artisan-made products from around the world, curated around a central theme. From the GlobeIn Artisan Box, comes the GlobeIn Benefit Basket.

Think of it as a mini Artisan Box: a budget-friendly alternative for mindful consumers looking to discover crafted, distinct goods that empower remarkable artisans in remote regions of the world.

The Benefit Basket includes one incredible handcrafted good, inspired by the month's Artisan Box theme, delivered to you nestled inside GlobeIn's signature handwoven basket. Inside each Benefit Basket, you will also find a story about the artisan, their community, and how you are making an impact on their lives with your purchase.

Update 12/21: Unfortunately it was announced today that GlobeIn is ending the Benefit Basket subscription. Instead they will be focusing on the Artisan Box subscriptions and GlobeIn Club, a relatively new subscription that sends one artisan item per month for only $10 plus shipping. This month we have a product from Krochet Kids. Krochet Kids is a company that aims to equip people living in poverty with the skills, education, and resources to change their circumstances. Through a unique model, Krochet Kids are empowering the women of Northern Uganda and Peru with the assets, skills, and knowledge to lift themselves and their families out of poverty. GlobeIn Signature Handwoven Basket from Mexico ($12 US)
Every month, the gift comes inside a handwoven basket, similar to this one. Colours vary, and basket may be round or square. I use them for storage and gift giving. They make great "gift bags".

Info Card

Krochet Kids The Lilly Crochet Beanie in Blush ($30 US)
Our cinched beanie, ‘the Lilly’, is made in Uganda from soft acrylic yarn and is signed by the lady who made it.

Subscribers will either receive this one or The Betty beanie in Black (valued at $26 US).

The tag inside the top of the beanie is signed by the crafter, Ober Flourence. Putting a name to the product is such a great feature!

The December GlobeIn Benefit Box features a hand crochet beanie and hand woven basket. The retail value is $42 US, which is great! This box costs $31.95 US for Canadians, including shipping. The beanie is really well made and super cute.

If you are interested in subscribing to the Benefit Basket, new customers can use coupon code TRYBENEFIT to save 35% off their first month's box with a purchase of a 3-month Benefit Basket subscription. That gives you $7 off, bringing your 3-month subscription down to $49.95, making it only $16.65 US per box, plus shipping. Subscribe before December 15th and you will receive this box, with either the black or blush beanie, while supplies last.
I'm a little bummed to learn that the Benefit Basket subscription is ending. I'm a huge fan of GlobeIn and I highly recommend their Artisan Box. I haven't tried GlobeIn Club, but it's an affordable option for those interested in artisan products.
