FabFitFun VIP Review - Winter 2016 - Lifestyle Subscription Box + PROMO CODE

Canadian Box Addict pays for this box. This post contains affiliate inks.
What is it? FabFitFun VIP
How Much? $49.99/quarter or $179.99/year, plus $8 per box shipping to Canada. Prices in US dollars.
What’s in it? Full-size premium beauty, fashion, fitness, and wellness finds, valued at least $200

FabFitFun VIP is a US based lifestyle subscription box for women. FabFitFun is a beauty and lifestyle e-zine. Every 3 months, the editors of FabFitFun send out a mystery VIP box filled with their favourite products, as well as must have products of the season. VIP features a mix of beauty, fashion, fitness, wellness and home products that help you feel good from the inside out.

Yearly subscribers (Select Members) have the option to customize certain products in each box and get advance notice of add-on sales. Select Members are also the first to be billed and have their boxes shipped. A Select membership costs $179.99 per year (for 4 boxes), plus $32 shipping to Canada. That's a savings of $20 per year, over four boxes. I recently upgraded my regular account to Select in order to take advantage of these great perks.

This season's box was designed by Taylor Davis, an LA based graphic designer. Check out her Instagram account here.

Each season FabFitFun produces a mini-mag which includes details about the products, tips and tricks, and other useful information.

Product Info!

These are my favourite pages in the mag - 100 New Year's Resolutions (you can actually keep), and recipes for warm holiday beverages!

First look!

Gorjana Kiernan Double Pendant Necklace ($75)
Select Members were able to choose between this double pendant or a gold toggle lariat necklace. I'm very happy with my pick. I worried it would be too long but it's the perfect length and nice and delicate. The longer layer is 22" and the shorter layer is 18". The necklace is made from silver plated brass. This double pendant can be worn multiple ways - as is with both pendants, or hang one to the back to have a single long or short pendant in the front.

D.L. & Co Blackberry Nectar Candle ($44)
As you can see in the First Look box photo, FabFitFun modified the packaging to ensure this gorgeous candle wouldn't get damaged in transit. The other variation for this candle is Bergamot Woods in silver. I'm a Select Member so I was able to choose and I'm thrilled with mine. FabFitFun suggests that when your candle is gone, you use the pretty jar to hold a succulent or other plant.

O.R.G. Skincare Mineral Peel Face ($44)
This spray-on face mask exfoliates with enzymes which extract dermal debris and dead skin. Spray on, massage off. Easy!

Butter London Iconoclast Mega Volume Mascara ($20)
This formula volumizes, separates, defines, and lifts lashes.

Anderson Lilley Sicilian Tangerine Beach Butter Body Cream ($24)
This is a rich and hydrating body cream that's a blessing during this dry, cold weather. The Sicilian Orange scent is nice and sweet smelling. The variation scent is "Winter in Manhatten Beach". I have no idea what that would smell like!

Marie Mae Company Thank You Card Set ($24)
This set of 10 note cards with envelopes is super fun. The "Cheers" sentiment means they can be used for many occasions, no just to say Thank You. I first learned about Marie Mae Company from GlobeIn. Marie Mae outsources their design work to support African artisan-entrepreneurs. I use the Weekly Planner I received in March as a weekly meal planner!

Moleskine Weekly Notebook Planner ($20)
I know a lot of people were unhappy to see a planner in the Winter box, but not me. I can't get behind a digital planner. I tried and cannot do it! My planner is colour coded and full of notes, lists, and reminders. My only complaint with this is that it arrived too late! I've had my 2017 planner since August! This probably would have been more useful coming in the Fall box.

This planner has monthly and weekly views. I like using the monthly view so I can easily glance at my month ahead. It's great for making future plans. I said I already have a 2017 planner underway, but I'm thinking of switching to this one. It's more streamlined and more professional looking than my floral Ban.do agenda.

Starlight Children's Foundation Pin
This season FabFitFun is supporting the Starlight Children's Foundation. This pin helps spread awareness for their cause.

The Winter 2016 FabFitFun included eight items, valued at $251 US. When I saw spoilers for this box I was a bit underwhelmed. It didn't say "winter" to me at all. Now that I have the box and I've had a chance to check out everything and test some of the items, I quite like the Winter collection. It's not as great as Fall 2016, but the items in this collection are seasonally appropriate without being cliche.

The Winter box is sold out, but you can still sign up for FabFitFun! New subscribers will get the Editor's Box as their first shipment (click here for a preview), and then the next box will be Spring 2017. Save $10 off your first box by using promo code FAB10 at checkout!

  1. I love this subscription box. It is the only one I have stuck with over the last two years. Any item that doesn't appeal to me, I put aside for gifting to my sister-in-law, mother, friends, etc.
