Student Velocity Review - November 2016 - Canadian Student Subscription Box + PROMO CODE

This box was provided complimentary for review and this post contains affiliate links.

** As of Dec 2016, Student Velocity ceased operations. **
What is it? Student Velocity
How much? $24.99/month, plus $6 shipping. Prices in Canadian dollars.
What's in it? 2-4 snacks and 2-3 lifestyle items

Student Velocity  is Canadian subscription that sends care packages to Canadian students. Each monthly box will contain healthy study snacks, practical items, and fun gifts to help university and college students get through their academic terms.

Each box is themed around a specific point in the academic year. Whether it's back-to-school, term paper madness, or stress eating finals the box is designed with students in mind!

Since Student Velocity is aimed at students, they only ships boxes through the fall and winter semesters, which is 8 months. There are no boxes in May, June, July, or August. Boxes ship on the 24th of the month prior (eg: September box shipped August 24th). You can skip or cancel any time through you account page.

The November box is themed "Cafe Days".

Every month the product card includes a hand written note from the box founders. This month mine says "We hope you're having fun at school!".

Two Bears Cold Brew Coffeee - Hazelnut with Sea Salt ($3.99)
Typically I'm a big fan of cold brew but this flavoured one was not good. It might have improved with milk or added sweetener, but out of the bottle it was too sour and had an odd after taste. I noticed that Two Bears is sold at well.ca so I might try a bottle of the original

Go Cubes Chewable Coffee Cubes (2 packs, $4.50)
Go Cubes are little jelly squares of coffee. Each square has about 50mg of caffeine so they say two squares equals one cup. There are three flavours per pack - latte, pure drip, and mocha - so you get a bonus of one flavour. This hilarious review is a must read: "I tried Go Cubes chewable coffee and I'm pretty sure this is what cocaine feels like".

Clif Bars (2, $4)
Clif Bars are great for some quick energy between meals. These ones are White Chocolate Macadamia Nut and Chocolate Almond Fudge. Sounds yummy!

Steeped Tea Oasis on the Green Green Tea (1.7oz, $10
This is a fruit infused loose leaf green tea. It sounds delish. Steeped Tea is a direct sales company based in Canada. It appears similar to Epicure Selections, which sells spices.

Salt Spring Island Candle Co. Moustache 4oz Tin ($14)
This candle smells of cedar, musk, and cinnamon. I get the cinnamon more than anything else so it smells very festive. It's a great candle to send out for "Movember".

The November Student Velocity box included five different products, valued around $36.50 Canadian. This box costs $30.99 per month, including  shipping. The Cafe Days theme is well curated and includes some new and exciting products for us to try.
