One thing to note is that the website for La Boîte à Bonbons is entirely in French. If you don't read French well enough to navigate the website, try to copy/paste phrases or paragraphs into Google Translate. To make it easier, you only need to know a few key words: s'abonner (subscribe), bonbons sour (sour candy), bonbons doux (soft candy), mixtes (mixed candy). With that, you should have no trouble signing up! When you get to the website, make sure to sign up for the e-mail list, or look for the "15% de rabais" icon in the top right corner. You will receive a code for 15% off your first box!

The box included a personalized handwritten note. It's in French, but roughly translated, they thank me for subscribing, they hope I like the premier box, and if I have any comments let them know. It ends with a little reminder to share my experience on social media! I am a paying subscriber for this box, so I am thinking all subscribers received a note like this. It's a very nice touch.

First Look!

All the candies come packaged into small cello bags and are sealed with a branded sticker. We are supposed to receive 1kg of candy, so I weighed all the candy, outside of the bags. In total, I came to 995 grams, which is pretty well bang on, keeping in mind calibration issues and error of uncertainty with various scales. I purchased a box of "Mixed" candies, so I received soft and sour.

Cola Bottles
These are a childhood favourite of mine. My package included 237 grams of cola bottles. They were delicious!

Red Berries
Red berries are another favourite. I received 253 grams of berries so I shared these ones with my aunt and she raved about how fresh they were. For reference, my aunt works in a grocery store, and she kept saying the red berries sold at her store are no where near as fresh as these ones!

Sour Buttons
I don't know what these are called so I dubbed them Sour Buttons. They are VERY sour and fruit flavoured. The green ones are my favourite! There was 251 grams of sours.

Sour Rings
These sugar coated rings are slightly sour and taste of apple. I received 254 grams of sour rings. I've never seen these before so it was fun to try something new.

My October box from La Boîte à Bonbons included about 1 kilogram of candies. The packaging and selection was really great. I was most impressed with the freshness of the candies. They were all soft and chewy, just how they should be. The unboxing experience was very fun, and my family was thrilled to sample from the box! La Boîte à Bonbons would make a great gift for a family or the sweet tooth in your life. Remember to sign up for their e-mail list to get a 15% off code!
