BuddhiBox Review - August 2016 - Eco-Lifestyle Subscription Box + PROMO CODE

This box was provided complimentary for review.

What is it? BuddhiBox
How Much? $32.95 per month, plus $12.99 shipping to Canada. Save on longer terms. All prices in US dollars.
What’s in it? Mix of 4-6 full-size products and product samples to enrich mind, body, and soul.

BuddhiBox is a subscription service for yoga lovers. The goal of BuddhiBox is to deliver "monthly mindfulness through a curated box of products that enhance your yoga practice and lifestyle". Each month you will receive items that enrich mind, body, and soul. Items may include healthy food, supplements, beauty products, and yoga accessories. A monthly BuddhiBox will include 4-6 products for you to discover and share. Even if you don't practice yoga, BuddhiBox is for people who enjoy a peaceful and mindful existence. BuddhiBox practices Saucha (living purely) and only partners with businesses that follow ethical and conscious standards in production. They also donate a portion of proceeds to charity.

Last month I mentioned there was an issue with shipping that resulted in COD charges for many Canadian subscribers. Click here for a reminder. Unfortunately the August boxes got caught up in that as well. This month I owed $0.88 in GST plus a $10 service charge to DHL. Total rip off and scam on the part of DHL. There is absolutely no way CBSA would have wasted the time and effort to collect 88 cents worth of tax. DHL has changed their cross border shipping method to ensure these boxes are assessed tax, and as a result, they get to charge an exorbitant service charge. This change certainly isn't helping small businesses like BuddhiBox. Thankfully, as of September, BuddhiBox will be using the US Postal Service instead of DHL to ship Canadian boxes. Good riddance DHL.

This month we are making Hibiscus Mango Fruit Popsicles (yum!) and practising Dragonfly (Grasshopper) pose (aka - Maksikanagasana). I definitely cannot do this one!

The product card indicates we are recieving six items this month, one of which is a "BuddhiBox Bonus" item. A BuddhiBox Bonus is an item that has appeared in a past box and is deemed a "BuddhiBox Favorite".

Karma Mantra Amrita Lava Bracelet ($24)
This single mala bracelet is made of lava stones, known for their spiritual and emotional properties. I love that the little blue ones almost look like tiny globes. The three blue stones are actually died Howlite, a gemstone that has calming properties.

Orglamix Lip Scrub in Peach Sangria ($15)
This natural lip scrub is made with organic coconut oil, neem seed oil, rosemary leaf extract, and more. Subscribers received either Peach Sangria or Pina Colada. This peach scent is divine.

Boyd's Farm Lavender & Geranium Refreshing Facial Mist ($10)
Most of us don’t moisturize throughout the day because we don’t want to smear makeup or look and feel greasy. This fine mist is both light and effective so you can take care of your skin no matter where you are.
The lavender scent helps you relax, while the organic oils moisturize your skin.

Auromere Ayurveda Himalayan Rose Soap + Bonus Shampoo & Conditioner Samples ($2.95)
Ayurveda is the ancient holistic system of promoting well-being and rejuvenation. This soap is a fragrant blend of Indian and Damascus roses, combined with 15 complementary herbal extracts and oils.

Zico Chocolate Flavoured Coconut Water ($2)
This is a blend of coconut water and dark chocolate. I will probably save it to use in a smoothie, since I'm not a fan of coconut water on its own. This is a bonus item, as it's not listed on the product card.

Soulful Essence Meditation Station Roll-On in Mindfulness ($23)
This aromatherapy roll-on is scented with juniper and frankincense. It's very woodsy. This is my Buddhi Bonus item. We first received this product in March 2016.

Tiger Balm Pain Relieving Patch ($2)
This is a soft, flexible patch that provides strong, penetrating relief of back aches and pain. It's easy to apply and painless to remove. The Tiger Balm healing ingredients are quickly absorbed into the skin to provide long lasting relief. What a great idea!

Soybu Active Fashion Coupon Code
As a bonus, we received a code for $20 off a purchase of $50+ at Soybu.

The August BuddhiBox included seven products, plus two bonus samples, valued at $79 US. This box costs $45.94 US per month, including shipping to Canada. This month is mostly all about body care, which is right up my alley.

If you are interested in trying BuddhiBox, you can save 20% off your first box using promo code birthday16.

BuddhiBox recently launched BBEO, an essential oil subscription box. It's a lower price point than the full BuddhiBox, but gets you some of the same great products.
For $14.95 per month, inclusive of shipping (in the US), subscribers will receive one essential oil roll-on, a deluxe bath + body sample, a crystal, small jewelry piece or other gift, and a 15 min meditation. Each box will contain 4 deluxe sample items and valued at $35-$40+ each month. All essential oil blends will be created by Alchemist, yoga teacher, and reiki healer Julie Quinn. Each month will be themed. Examples include stress less, sleep more, align chakras, so that we are providing variety to our customers each month.
