It's BBQ season again! Vancouver weather has been glorious since early April and we've been making the most of it, grilling up our dinners as often as possible.

April is "Rub Month" with Griller's Paradise. All of these rubs were selected to enhance the flavour of grilled meats and vegetables.

Summer Kitchen Rosemary Rush Spice Rub ($6.25)
Rosemary Rush is ideal for poultry, lamb, pork, vegetables, and even breads.

Haupy's Beaver Rub ($10)
HBR is great on all kinds of meat. You can also use it to liven up soups, sauces, and marinades. It's paprika based and quite spicy (the website says mildly spicy but I find it a step up from mild). It actually kind of reminds me a bit of taco seasoning and a bit of a chicken kebab seasoning I brought back from Turkey.

American Stockyard Apple Barbecue Rub ($6.99)
This one is a sweet and savoury blend of sugar and spices, with a sweet apple finish. We used this on our steaks the other day and it was incredible. My boyfriend was super impressed. I plan to use it on ribs this weekend, and also use it to create an apple butter barbecue sauce! Definitely recommended.

House of Q House Rub ($10.99)
House of Q is a local company and they are featured regularly on my local news broadcast (during their summer BBQ segments). This is a good, basic rub that is equally sweet and salty. It's also very fragrant, with celery and garlic seasoning being the most prominent. It's got a slight bit of kick to it as well.

Sexy Salt Original ($5.50)
This multi-use spice and salt blend has a predominant onion, garlic, and oregano flavour. It can be used on absolutely everything from meats, poultry and fish to soups, salads, sauces, and dips.

The April box from Griller's Paradise included five great spice rubs to help kick off the start of BBQ season. I'm really impressed with the quality of the spices included and I'm also pleased to see that 4 out of 5 products are from Canadian companies! The Apple Barbecue Rub is a new favourite in my household! Griller's Paradise would make a perfect gift for Father's Day this June.
