The theme for May is "Hydrate".
On this blue planet, water is the ultimate elixir. Everything is better that’s hydrated—your body, your mood, your pets, your plants. This month’s kit offers your hydration efforts both practicality and pizazz.

Of course, water is no luxury—it’s a basic human right. So it seemed appropriate to partner up this month with Water.org, an organization working to bring safe water to all 663 million people around the world who currently lack it. This month, your drink is also someone else’s.

First look!

Conscious Coconut Organic Coconut Oil ($15)
This is a tube of 100% USDA organic, Fair Trade, virgin cold-pressed coconut oil. Coconut oil is an amazing moisturizer, hair de-frizzer, teeth whitener, makeup remover and basically a little miracle for the modern world.

Zambeezi Organic Beeswax Lip Balm ($2.95)
Zambeezi products are produced in Zambia. The workers who make their ingredients and products receive a fair and living wage for their work. The company’s profits help benefit African communities, by partnering with local churches to build schools, clinics, drilling wells and other projects that serve needs they identify.

Roots of Creation Bottle Stopper ($10)
Each bottle stopper is cast from zinc and electroplated with an antique brass finish by a fair trade casting company in Cape Town, South Africa. Subscribers had a choice of either this bottle stopper, or the GlobeIn Signature Woven  Basket from Mexico.

Cristaluc Mexican Hand Blown Glass ($15)
This glass can be used as a vase or a drinking glass. This glass is handmade by a collective or artisans in Tonala, Mexico. The process of making this glass involved 8-14 glass makers working as a team. It would make a great candle holder too.

Trashy Bags Shopping Tote ($15)
The humble drinking water sachet is a huge problem in West Africa. People mostly buy their water in sachets rather than bottles because of the cost savings but until recently the used sachets have just been discarded in the streets. It is only due to our efforts and those of other recyclers that people are starting to realize that the sachets can be recycled.

This tote is made using 70 recycled drinking water sachets and is ideal for grocery shopping. It can hold up to 18 kg and folds down into a built-in zipper pouch. It's a pretty innovative product.

The May GlobeIn Artisan Box, featuring a Hydrate theme, included five products, valued at $68 US. This box costs $52 US for Canadians. The products chosen fit the hydrate theme well. There are things to hydrate your skin, something to help hydrate your body, and something made from recycled hydration pouches. They've covered all aspects of hydration, not than just the obvious. I think I say it every month, but GlobeIn really does have the best theme curation of any subscription box.
