Fortune Cookie Soap Box Review - Summer 2016 - Bath & Body Subscription Box

This box was provided complimentary for review.
What is it? Fortune Cookie Soap Box
How much? $19.99 per quarter, plus $8 shipping to Canada. Prices in US dollars.
What's in it? 8 mini size bath & body products from an upcoming collection. Ships 4 times per year.
Fortune Cookie Soap is a company that produces handcrafted bath and body products. FCS has a major product launch four times per year, so each season FCS puts together a limited edition box containing 8 mini-size products from the upcoming collection. The Soap Box ships approximately two weeks prior to the launch, giving subscribers an opportunity to try out the new fragrances and formulas, before committing to full size versions. The box also includes a $10 gift code, which can be used on the FCS website to purchase your favourite items.

The 2016 Summer Soap Box is out and the theme is "Just Keep Swimming". It's an homage to Disney's Finding Nemo. The full line of products is available now at Fortune Cookie Soap, so be sure to check them out online.

This season we are trying eight products from the "Just Keep Swimming" collection.

First look!

Intervention! Whipped Cream
This body butter brings together coconut milk and tangy pineapples for a tropical treat. FCS Whipped Cream body butter is rich and creamy, non-greasy, and fantastic smelling!

Jelly Man Don't be Jelly
This is a very weird item. It's the texture of a firm jello jiggler. You are meant to use it in the shower, like soap. Work him into a lather and rub all over. This one invokes black cherry, watermelon, guava nectar, strawberries, and lime. It makes me want a smoothie!

Ooooooooh...Barracuda Lip Gloss
This gloss smells delish and the sheer berry colour is quite nice too. The application is a little messy from this pot, but I think the full size is sold in a tube with applicator. This one smells of honeydew!

Aqua Scum Spray Lotion
This moisturizing blend of of lycee, apple, and peach nectar. Spray it on after a shower and rub in. Quick and easy!

Lil' Blue OCD Hand Sanitizer
OCD Hand Sanitizer is my favourite FCS product. One comes every season in the box! This one smells of pear, apples, plum blossom, and sandalwood.

Shark Bait Fortune Cookie Soap
This soap looks like Nemo! I hope he isn't the shark bait. It's a blend of oranges and vanilla ice cream. Creamsicle soap!

Pedi-Bomb Fin. Noggin. Duuude.
I think this is supposed to be a turtle but it's pretty beat up. It's a lemon-lime fizzy pedi-bomb. Drop in a warm foot bath and let your little piggies soak.

This is a tropical mash up of strawberries, black-currant, jasmine, grapefruit, and fresh avocado. I don't usually like the FCS perfume oils, but this one is nice.

The Summer 2016 Fortune Cookie Soap Box included eight items from the new "Just Keep Swimming" collection. This is a fun tropical "Nemo" themed box. All the products smell delicious. I like the spray lotion and hand sanitizer the best. Value wise, this is a sample box so it's difficult to put a value on it. The fortune cookie soap and hand sanitizer alone total almost $7 US, plus subscribers receive a $10 gift card good towards full size purchases.

If handmade bath and body products interest you, this box is a great way to sample different FCS products. I'd recommend this box for a teen or tween due to the whimsical themes and product branding. One concern would be for those with allergies or sensitive skin. While the website lists ingredients for each product, most of the sample sizes do not include an ingredients list and some of the online descriptions are vague.
The Fall 2016 edition of the Fortune Cookie Soap Box ships around August 2016. If you are interested, be sure to sign up soon! If any of these Summer themed products interest you, check out the Fortune Cookie Soap website. The "Just Keep Swimming" collection is available now!
