Tea Sparrow is a Canadian tea subscription service, based in Vancouver. Tea Sparrow curates their boxes by hosting bi-weekly tea parties where local Vancouver members taste and score teas from around the world. Each month, members receive the 4 highest rated loose-leaf teas: one each of black, green/oolong, rooibos and herbal. All of their teas are free of artificial ingredients.

This is a review of the Mother's Day tea box, which is being sent out to all subscribers this May. If your mom is a tea lover, Tea Sparrow may make a great gift. Subscribe before May 17th and you will receive an e-card option to give to Mom on Mother's Day. The May boxes ship out on May 17th. Gift subscriptions can be purchased for 1, 3, or 6 month terms. A one month term is $25, including shipping, with discounted pricing on 3 and 6 month terms.

Tea Desire Baked Apple Rooibos
For when you're craving a taste of home, this apple pie rooibos blend is rich and decadent with bits of marzipan.
This smells like apple cider with a hint of almond. Very comforting.

Rishi Tea Tropical Coconut Oolong
A transporting tropical blend of creamy coconut, juicy pineapple and floral Bao Zhong oolong tea. Wonderfully rejuvenating, a flowery oolong tea paired with refreshing creamy coconut.
This one has big, visible chunks of dried coconut. It smells like a pina colada! I plan to try it iced.

Rishi Tea Organic Ruby Ooolong
Named for its brilliant red infusion, this full-bodied, deeply fermented oolong is slow baked to bring out complex layers of cacao, raisins and black cherry.
This one is strong, with a hint of dark fruits. It's nice, but I might prefer it better iced with a bit of sweetener.

Herbal Republic Strawberry Mint
Winning the hearts of strawberry tea drinkers everywhere, this herbal infusion is the perfect balance between earthiness and berry fun. A beautiful, clean drinking experience!
This is a interesting one. It has the sweet fruitiness of strawberry and the crisp coolness of mint. I bet it would be deliciously refreshing as an iced tea.

The May Mother's Day tea box from Tea Sparrow included four different loose leaf teas, with 72 grams total of tea. There is enough tea here for at least a cup a day, and then some. The blends are all unique and different, so there is surely something that will appeal to every tea drinker. If you would like this May box for yourself, or as a gift, sign up before May 17th. For Mother's Day, gift subscriptions have an e-card option so you have something to give Mom on May 8th.
