What is it? Vancity Box
How Much? $49.95/month, including shipping. Prices in Canadian dollars.
What’s in it? 5-8 handmade, artisan, and local products made by BC vendors

Vancity Box is a new Canadian subscription box focusing on handmade artisan products from Vancouver, BC and the surrounding area. I was pretty excited when I first learned about Vancity Box, as I am a Vancity girl and I love discovering new locally made products and edibles. With Vancity Box, you will get 5-8 products, with a retail value of up to $80. Products may include soaps, sncks, drinks, handmade items, knits, and more. It's a craft market delivered to your door!

Living in Vancouver for so many years  made us fall in love with everything it has to offer. Whether it be the nature in our backyard, countless types of foods and restaurants, active and healthy lifestyle choices,  or  the number of small businesses that make up more than 90% of companies in BC. We can really agree that it is the best place to live!

Even if you aren't from Vancouver, with Vancity Box, you will become an "Official Vancouverite".

First look!

C Yarn Hut Doughnut Charm ($16.28)
C Yarn Hut is based in Vancouver. They knit and crochet adorable little creatures and food. You can even custom order a full sized crochet cake! This can be used as a keychain, purse charm, or whatever your heart desires.

Goodmallows Handmade Marshmallows in Lemon Meringue (100g, ~$6.95)
These were seriously amazing. The tart and bright lemon flavour was perfect. Goodmallows are corn syrup, gluten, and preservative free. I shared these with two other friends and they are agreed - delicious. I need to try more!

Aloe Vera Print Card by Matt Osborn (~$4)
This card is a print of an original water colour piece by local Vancouver artist Matt Osborn. He has two other cactus designs. I might try to find cards for them too and maybe frame them as a trio.

One Month Free of Yogo.TV ($18 value) is a Vancouver-based site that brings yoga classes to your living room. Along with making yoga more accessible. showcases some of the talented teachers and beautiful studios BC has to offer. You do not need to enter payment details to take advantage of this offer.

Aslan Chai Spicy Chai (130g, $10)
Spicy Chai contains green tea, cardamom, cinnamon, brown sugar, black pepper, fennel. It sounds amazing. I love iced chai lattes in the spring and summer. One jar makes about 11 cups. We also received a wooden token for $1 off a purchase at Aslan Chai.

Roasters Hot Sauce in Roasted Habanero Pineapple ($8.35)
This is a described as a "medium hot" sauce with "sweet balanced heat". They recommend using it on fish tacos, or any seafood. Roasters is based in Vancouver and run by a husband and wife team.

This scrub soap is made with olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, espresso, and coffee grounds. All of Bite Me's products look good enough to eat, so they are sure to put a "non edible" sticker on the packaging! Bite Me is based in the Lower Mainland and makes appearances at various farmer's markets and in some retail locations.

CANVAS Candle Company Vanilla  Nut Candle (4oz, $9)
This candle smells delicious. Creamy vanilla with a hint of nutmeg. The packaging is simple but elegant. CANVAS Candle Co is based in Port Moody, not to far form where I live!

Bonus - Vancity Box Tote Bag
This was a nice addition!

Final look!

The March Vancity Box included 7 products, plus a free-service promo code. The total retail value is just over $80 CDN. This box costs $49.95 CDN, including shipping. This is important to remember since shipping is often $10-15 per box. Overall I was really impressed with Vancity Box. First of all, the sheer number of products included is really appealing. Most lifestyle boxes keep to 4-5 products, so 7-8 here is a nice treat (although their page says you could receive anywhere from 5 to 8 products per box). Everything is full size. The curation is great. There is a little bit of everything represented here. I discovered some great new products and local businesses through this box and I couldn't be happier... so much so, that I subscribed!
