I last reviewed UrthBox about a year ago. It was the May 2014 box, but I received it in September 2014. It was a very dismal experience, and I vowed to never subscribe to UrthBox again. Read that review here. The company recently reached out to me and offered me an opportunity to review a box. I figured it's been a year, and I might as well see if anything has changed or improved.

This is a review for the Small Classic Box. The first thing I noticed is that the box is smaller and it is packed to the brim. This one was heavy and very full.

The August Urth Box included fourteen items, with an approximate value around $30 US. This box $29.99 per month, plus shipping, although you can get it for as low as $19.99 with a 6-month subscription. There is a good variety of snacks and treats and everything meets their promise to be organic and non-GMO.

  2. Beware this company does auto renewals and doesn't forewarn you that it's coming. I signed up for a 6 month subscription and hated most of the products because they either weren't all that healthy(read the ingredients! Mostly sugar) or just taste gross. I was charged again for a 6 month subscription which, due to the current status of the Canadian dollar, cost me $300. I emailed them asking for s refund as I didn't want the product and they just sent me a reply wither auto renewal policy and said I was out of luck. Fair enough. However the only way to cancel your subscription is to contact them and ask them to cancel it. You cannot remove your credit card information from your account on their website. I have emailed them three times over the last 3 months asking them to please confirm that I will not be charged again in the future as I wish to cancel the auto subscription. No one has replied even though it generates an automatic email with a ticket number and says they will get back to you within 24-48 business hours. ALSO I have called the telephone service and spoke to someone on the phone I asked them to cancel the auto renewal and I asked them to please send me an email confirmation that it has been cancelled( my credit card company said to keep any record I have of asking to cancel so if I am charged again in the future, I have it as proof to dispute the claim) and after some reluctant tones and weird wish washy conversation on their end, she said she'd send me an email within a few minutes. I have yet to receive any such email. BEWARE THIS COMPANY!
