Ipsy Glam Bag Review - April 2015 - Beauty Subscription Box

This post contains referral links.
What is it? Ipsy Glam Bag
How Much? $10 per month, plus $4.95 shipping to Canada (US$)
What’s in it? 4-5 beauty products every month

Ipsy is a San Francisco based beauty subscription that sends a beautiful Glam Bag filled with with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Once you've received your Glam Bag, you can head over to the Ipsy Community to watch tutorial videos and play along with the Ipsy stylists, using the same products they are using.

The theme for April's bag was Beautifully Bohemian and was inspired by "Festival Season". The bag is awesome. It's woven straw and would make a super cute summer clutch.

Mullein & Sparrow Mini Lip & Cheek Tint ($10)
The Mullein & Sparrow Mini Lip & Cheek Tint is an all-natural, sheer, tinted balm that gives your lips and cheeks a slight flush and dewy finish.
I'm not a fan of lip/cheek tint products like this. It's a nice product though and will make someone else very happy!

A luxurious lipstick that is infused with Hungarian Lilac Extract, Edelweiss & Hyaluronic acid for intense hydration as well as Lavender Wax to help repair and smooth lips. In addition, this lipstick delivers super saturated color that will truly make a statement.
I don't wear lipstick, but I like the colour.

MicaBeauty Cosmetics Eye Primer (4g, $22.50)
This eye primer helps even out skin tone as well as extending and intensifying your mineral eye shadows, without creasing, smearing, or fading.
This is half of a full size version, and man is it an expensive product! Apparently some people were concerned about discoloration on the surface of the product. I received an e-mail update from Ipsy addressing the issue even before I received my bag, so that was nice to see.
"Mica Beauty has confirmed that all individual ingredients were checked by a certified lab and approved for safety. The final product also passed a microbiology test and no mold was found. The brand believes any marks you're seeing in or on the product are the result of bubbles produced during the production cooling process which could take on a greenish/blackish tint."
Jesse's Girl JulieG Nail Color in Damsel ($3.99)
You won’t be a damsel in distress with this JulieG Nail Color! Highly-pigmented, no chip formula, with a brush applicator that glides on smooth for the perfect application.
The colour is fun but I don't need anymore polish.

theBalm Cosmetics Nude Dude Eyeshadow in Fit (0.035oz, $3)
The shadows can be worn wet or dry and alone or layered for added intensity, so go ahead and cover (or uncover) your eyes.
Fit is described as a "shimmering copper". These shadows are available in a 12 pan palette. There were two shades given out this month (Flirty was the second one).

My April 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag contained five products with an estimated value of $53 US. This bag cost me $19.48 CDN ($14.95 US), so the value seems good, but the bulk of the value is in the Mica Eye Primer, which is a product that is grossly over priced, and something that I wouldn't use. My favourite product this month is the bag everything came in! I'm still torn about whether or not to cancel Ipsy. I have a lot of points to redeem so I think I will wait another couple months and try to cash in!
