At Luxe Box, our mission is to help consumers better discover, try and purchase quality beauty and lifestyle products through a unique experience.
Each season Luxe Box offers some add-ons and upgrades. These are the ones they offered for Winter season. I have two Luxe Box accounts so I opted for a regular box for one, and the Chalet Chic upgrade box for the other. This is my review of the Chalet Chic Winter 2014 Luxe Box. Click here for my review of the regular edition box.

The limited edition boxes include an actual product card, as well as an online product dashboard.

The packaging is the same... silky drawstring bag within a embossed gift box.

Biotherm Aquasource Cocoon (15ml sample, $15)
48h deep hydration for normal to dry skin. In winter, your skin can lose up to 50% of its hydration and become dry. Discover Biotherm’s innovation: New Aquasource Cocoon. Nourishing as a balm, yet light as a gel.
I received this sample in my regular edition box as well.

Suki Skin Care Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser (30ml, $10.95)
the suki® difference: our soft sugar crystals (sanding sugar) provide both granular & AHA cell renewal without tearing skin. granules melt into skin to help lift toxins & dead cells for safe & effective deep cleansing.
I first saw this product on Birchbox (US) and I read great reviews on it. This product is the reason I upgraded to the Chalet Chic Winter Edition Luxe Box. I'm looking forward to giving it a try!

ModelCo Power Lash Mascara (Full size, $20)
Power Lash is an intensely black, lengthening mascara. The formula glides on smoothly and draws each lash out to show-stopping size while the unique brush reaches and beautifully lengthens even the tiniest of lashes to glamour-eyes in an instant.
I haven't tried this but I heard good things about it. I received another one in my regular edition box.

Nicole by OPI in Profoundly Purple (3.75ml sample, $3.99)
This deep eggplant has soulful beauty. Nicole by OPI puts salon quality at your fingertips…from the colorful world of OPI.
This sample is so small! I received the same one in my regular edition box, and while initially I thought I liked it, after trying it out, it's horrible. It goes on very grey and takes a few coats to look dark purple.

Loose Button Eyelash Curler ($20)
Give your lashes their biggest curl and best volume ever with our Loose Button eyelash curler.
I have no issue with tools being included each season, but I received this in my regular edition as well. I don't need two eyelash curlers right now.

Paula's Choice Clinical KP Treatment Cloths (10 cloths, $14)
Wipe your KP woes away. And banish "bacne", too. These easy-to-use keratosis pilaris wipes get rid of those little red bumps (aka chicken skin) and reveal smooth, even skin anywhere on the body.
This is another product I received in my regular edition box, but no complaints because this is a quality product and I'm curious to try them out.

Evulcano Hair Wash (1oz, $4)
This cleansing shampoo will leave you hair shiny, smooth and manageable. It contains extracts of Italian Olive Oil and the strong antioxidant benefits from Volcanic Minerals. Featuring a wonderful scent of Sicilian Lemons.
One of three items in this box that isn't a duplicate with products I received in my regular edition box! Woot!

Evulcano Hair Cream (1oz, $4) - MISSING!
This smoothing conditioner is the perfect final step in your hair care routine. It will leave your hair silky smooth. It contains extracts of Italian Olive Oil and the strong antioxidant benefits from Volcanic Minerals. Featuring a wonderful scent of Sicilian Lemons.
This product was missing from my box. It's too bad because it's one of only three items that isn't a duplicate between my boxes. I e-mailed and Luxe Box said they would send me a replacement product in 2-3 weeks.

Bonus Add-On:
butterLONDON Ruby Murray Moisture Matte Lipstick (full size, $25)
Full coverage, ultimate colour payoff in a velvety matte finish.  Specialized pigments extend colour wear. Long-lasting, non-drying formula does not feather or bleed.  Revolutionary gel-capsule technology delivers colour and moisture for smooth, silky application and maximum comfort.
This is the add-on Luxe Box offered for the winter season. Every subscriber had the opportunity to add on this full size lipstick for only $10. It was too good to pass up, and I love the colour!

My Chalet Chic Winter Edition Luxe Box contained 8 items, valued at $91.94. With the additional add-on lipstick, that brings it to 9 products valued at $116.94! This box cost me $24 (with a year subscription, including tax and shipping), plus a $6 upgrade fee. If this was my only Luxe Box for the winter season, I would have no complaints. All the products are great, there's a nice mix of categories, and everything is generously sized. But since I also purchased a regular edition box this season, I ended up with 5 duplicate products. I saw other regular edition boxes with Suki Skincare products, so I don't understand why I paid a $6 upgrade fee. There are no products exclusive to the upgrade boxes and the value is pretty well the same as the regular edition boxes. The only difference is that they include a specially printed sleeve around the box and a customized product card... did I pay an extra $6 to cover printing costs? I love Luxe Box, but I do not recommend the upgrade boxes. The additional fee is never worth it.

Are you interested in trying Luxe Box? The next box will be shipping in Spring 2015. You can save $2 per box by using my referral link. The discount applies to all subscription terms, so on a year subscription, you will save $8, bringing the cost down to $88 for the year, or just $22 per box. That includes tax and shipping!
