Ipsy Glam Bag Review - January 2015 - Beauty Subscription Bag

This post contains referral links.
What is it? Ipsy Glam Bag
How Much? $10 per month, plus $4.95 shipping to Canada (US$)
What’s in it?  4-5 beauty products every month

Ipsy is a San Francisco based beauty subscription that sends a beautiful Glam Bag filled with with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Once you've received your Glam Bag, you can head over to the Ipsy Community to watch tutorial videos and play along with the Ipsy stylists, using the same products they are using.

The theme for January is "Fresh Start".
It's time to get fresh! A kickoff so clean the possibilities are endless. Get ready for a fantastic and flawless 2015.
The bag this month is tri-colour. White on one side, blue on the other, and coral trim and interior.

(MALIN+GOETZ) Mojito Lip Balm (7g full size, $12)
(MALIN+GOETZ) Mojito Lip Balm is as soothing to the lips as it is to the senses. This lip balm is scientifically blended to restore and replenish. This hydrating lip gel easily integrates for daily maintenance, prevention and treatment of dry, irritated lips. Color and paraben free.
I'm excited for this one. I've seen people receive it in other subscriptions and I've always wanted to try it.

Probelle Nail Lacqueur in Into the Blue (15ml full size, $6)
Top quality, high gloss, long lasting nail lacquer in Into the Blue, a cool blue cream shade. DBP, Toluene, and Formaldehyde Free.
Another nail polish. Yawn. And why so much blue lately?

Hikari Mechanical Eyeliner in Storm (full size, $13)
Mechanical eyeliner with a smooth formula for easy application. The perfect mechanical eyeliner that you can smudge for a smoky look or use to define your eyes.
I prefer liquid liner, so this one is looking for a new home.

Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow in Ethereal (2.5g, $5.48)
An incredibly innovative formula that pushes natural makeup and mineral color to new bounds. Rich, lasting, creaseless eye shadows are infused with coconut water for a velvety, cream-like finish.
I haven't been a fan of Pacifica eye shadows thus far, but some Ipsters have been saying this shade is good as a highlighter or base. I will give it a try. (Note: My pricing is based on a 6.4g palette that retails for $14, which makes Pacifica eye shadow worth $2.19 per gram.)

Elizabeth Mott All Over Shadow Brush (full size, $9.99)
Don’t miss a spot with this ridiculously soft shadow brush. This brush with its 100% synthetic bristles is the perfect multitasker. Use it to highlight your brow bone and place the right amount of color for perfect and even application! Your lids will thank you later!
This brush is ridiculously soft, and I love that it's pink, but I'm not sure that I need another shadow brush.

The January "Fresh Start" Ipsy bag included five items, valued at $34.59. Four of my five items are full size. Technically you could say the Pacifica eye shadow is full size too, since it's a full size pan, but Pacifica doesn't sell eye shadow singles, only palettes. I love the lip balm, and I look forward to trying the eye shadow. It's a decent bag this month.
