surprise luxury beauty products packaged in a glossy pink gift box

Glossybox is a premiere beauty sampling program, operating in more than a dozen countries worldwide. They consider themselves the "leading purveyor of luxury beauty samples on a global stage".  Glossybox US started shipping to Canada in November 2014. This is not the same as the Glossybox that used to operate in Canada.

We are committed to introducing the most exciting brands throughout the world to you. Whether it be a product featured on the runways of Milan or the newest skincare regimen from Japan, we strive to make sure you are the first to have access to it.
This box shipped January 20th and arrived January 29th. Later than last month, but at least it arrived in January!

My favourite part of Glossybox is the packaging. The pink boxes are great and I love how they take so much care in packing and wrapping the box.

First look - Six products?!

Kueshi Revitalizing Face Toner (200ml full size, $13.50)
Revitalizing Toner moisturizes and re-balances skin, providing a sensation of freshness and softness with optimal results. Thanks to a combination of moisturizers and natural ingredients, the formula restores perfect balance to the skin. Controls shine in oily-prone areas and softens dry areas, leaving the skin feeling comfortable, fresh, healthy and perfectly clean.
I'm trying to incorporate the use of toners into my daily skincare regimen. Toner is an essential step in the Korean skincare routine! Memebox has me more interested in skincare and anti-aging. I wish I would have started caring a wee bit earlier in life though.

Skin&Co Roma Sicilian Light Serum (5ml, $7.83)
The Italian beauty brand, centered on the undiscovered beauty properties of the delectable truffle mushroom, utilizes potent skin-renewing ingredients in its skincare collection. This brightening serum is formulated to correct imperfections while softening and tightening skin with collagen-boosting active ingredients.
I'm just getting into serums too (thanks to Memebox and that crazy Korean skincare routine). It's a small sample, but a little goes a long way when it comes to serums. A full size is 1oz/30ml for $47. Glossybox was also featuring Skin&Co Roma Truffle Therapy Serum this month, so some subscribers received that one instead.

Vichy Purete Thermale 3-in-1 One Step Cleanser (30ml, $2.91)
Enriched with cleansing oils and Captelae™, a shea butter extract, to dissolve impurities from the skin while minimizing irritation and redness caused by rubbing. Contains Vichy Thermal Spa Water shown to soothe and fortify skin. Paraben-free.
I like receiving facial cleanser samples. They are great for travel and on-the-go. Vichy is a great brand and I've received a few of their products through other subscription boxes.

Lollipops Eye Pencil in Goodbye Moon (.02oz full size, $17.70)
This retractable midnight black pencil features a long-lasting, intense formula with a metallic finish. Enriched with vitamin E to nourish the delicate skin around the eye area, it is also super smudgable for an on-the-go smokey eye.
I use eyeliner, but not often enough to need another one. This one might be seeking a new home. I like the retractable style though. It's much more convenient than a traditional pencil.

This brush is made of premium quality natural hair and has rounded edges. The brush has smooth, firm bristles to flawlessy apply both powder and cream eyeshadows to the lid area.
I just received an eye shadow brush from Ipsy so I'm not sure which one I will keep. Can anyone recommend which is better between this one and the Elizabeth Mott All Over Shadow Brush? Glossybox also sent out a Tarte concealer brush this month, so some subscribers received that one instead.

This was a bonus item, not listed on the product card. I'm not sure why I receive it. Glossybox is offering this compact as a promo for new subscribers. This is the last month of my 3-month subscription so I think this was included in my box in error. The promo is still available so read through to the end for the promo code.

The January 2015 Glossybox included five products (plus an unexpected bonus item) with an approximate retail value over $65 US. This value doesn't include the bonus Cheek Tint compact. That would bring this box value up to $94. I paid $25 US for this box, with shipping (on a 3-month term). Of the five products this month, three are full size and two are deluxe samples. There is a good mix of cosmetics and skincare. A couple brands are well know, and a few are new to me. Beauty boxes are all about discovery and Glossybox has been great for helping me experience new products and brands. This is the type of box I have come to expect from Glossybox. Their foray into the Canadian market in November was rather underwhelming, but the two boxes since then have been fabulous. My three month subscription is up this box, but I've decided to continue with Glossybox and see what else they have to offer.

If you are interested in trying Glossybox, there are two promo code available right now. Only one can be used so pick which one suits you the best.
  • BFRGOLD15 - gets you the Beauty for Real compact shown above (value $29)
  • BEAUTYSTAT615 - gets you 15% off your first box of a month-to-month term ($3.15 savings)
*Codes expired Jan 31, 2015*

Both codes are valid for new subscribers only. Normally when you subscribe to Glossybox you receive the box for the month you signed up (sign up in January, receive the January box), however the January box is sold out. If you sign up in January, you will receive the Classic Glossybox as your first box. The Classic Glossybox is a "specially curated box filled with our all-time past favorites". If that doesn't interest you, wait until February to sign up and then you will receive the February box, although I can't guarantee that either of the above promo codes will work after January 31st.

  1. I signed up in November. My December box was never shipped. After many eMails to customer service they have now refunded my account and say they will send a past top box to compensate. Now, my January box has yet to ship. I understand it takes longer for us to get them in Canada, but it's ridiculous that their shipping is so terrible!

  2. Looks like such a great box filled with some wonderful products to try out. I kind of want to order one of them just to get my hands on their box. Its so sturdy and would probably great to organize and store things in it.

  3. Apparently you didn't get he 40$ card towards food box subscription that cannot be used in Canada...

  4. I just got my box. I also got the Hellofresh gift card. But it can't be used here like Kelly said. My box was the same. Still don't know if it's worth it. Esp given the rubbish low in the dollar. This box takes longer to ship than Julep.
