Blueberry Cove Beads Review - December 2014 - Canadian Bead Craft Subscription Box

This box was provided complimentary for review.

What is it? Blueberry Cove Beads
How Much? $22 per month, plus $5 shipping
What's in it?  A surprise themed package of beads and findings.

Blueberry Cove Beads is a new subscription service for crafters and beaders, based in Nova Scotia. Each month, Blueberry Cove Beads sends out a surprise themed package of beads and findings to inspire their members to be creative, or just to add to their stash.  Blueberry Cove Beads offers a month-to-month membership for $22, plus $5 shipping. The monthly fee is billed on the 3rd of each month, and boxes are shipped on the 7th of each month. You can easily cancel your subscription any time through your online account.

Each box from Blueberry Cove Beads has a surprise theme and will contain a mix of beads, from large focal beads to spacers, individual beads to strings, and you’ll also receive beading findings in your package.  Once the first box ships, Blueberry Cove will feature galleries on their website showing what's inside the monthly package, images of what other members have created, and other ideas and inspirations. Each box also includes a monthly challenge and a chance to win free boxes!

The first Blueberry Cove Beads box is themed "Woodland".

From wooden beads to greens and golds, from owls to acorns, it's time to connect with Nature!

The challenge for this month is to create a necklace using at least 2 components from the box. That doesn't seem to hard. When I have some time I hope to meet this challenge!

The beads and findings came in a black satiny drawstring bag. Once dumped out, this is what I found! More photos of the items can be found on the Blueberry Cove website.

Wooden bead string, round bead string, and wooden leaves string.

Glass fox and doughnut pendants, birds charm, owl pendant, leaf clasps, acorn beads, bonus Christmas charms.

Acrylic leaves, Okawa African ceramic beads, brass leaves.

*There was also supposed to be some metal tree charms but I didn't have any of those in my bag.

The January "Woodland" offering from Blueberry Cove Beads contained a huge selection of beads and charms with a nature theme. There is more than enough here to create quite a few unique jewellery pieces or crafts. I already have my eye on the leaf clasps for a pair of dangle earrings and the owl pendant for a bracelet or necklace. There is no way to put a value on this box, but as someone who used to bead and make jewellery, I can honestly say that you will get your $22 worth when you subscribe to Blueberry Cove Beads. Findings like the glass pendants and metal charms can be quite expensive so I was pleasantly surprised to see so many of these pieces included in the box. It's a fun subscription and would be great for anyone who loves beads and jewellery making.
