What is it? Bespoke Post Box of Awesome
How Much? $45 per month + tax, plus $10-20 shipping to Canada (US dollars)
What's in it? Fresh & interesting lifestyle brands for men built around a central, unique theme

Bespoke Post is a lifestyle subscription box for men. Each month, Bespoke Post sends a new "Box of Awesome" - a box filled with a limited edition collection of products built around a specific theme. To complement the box, Bespoke posts how-to-videos, tips & tricks, and interviews with the makers. Their goal is to introduce men to something new. Many of the boxes could appeal to women as well, which is why I have a subscription!

There were six boxes available in November, including last month's Highlands box. I picked two boxes for November: My Club Shipment "Slate" and an add-on box called "Refresh". This is my Slate review. Click here to see my Refresh review.

Slate
Lay out the ultimate spread.
These small-batch delicacies are sure to impress when you're hosting friends… if you can manage to avoid eating it all yourself. Serve them all on the rugged-meets-refined slate board and your holiday party will be off to a very successful start.
Slate is one of those boxes that appeals to both men and women. I love cooking and entertaining so I tend to go for all the food related boxes.  Slate was originally introduced in November 2012, and was brought back by popular demand. It reminds me a bit of the Butcher box I received last November.

Brooklyn Slate Natural Slate Serving Board (10x14, $33)
These hand-cut, rough-edged slate slabs are sourced from a family-run quarry in upstate New York. Each one has its own slight surface imperfections, adding to the tough vibe and making every board unique. Top it with your favorite cheese and charcuterie for a distinctive, rustic display. You can even clue your guests into what's what with the included soapstone chalk.
I have wanted a slate cheese board for SO LONG! When my box arrived last week (during the cold snap), my slate board was so cold, I couldn't even touch it. I wonder if it would double as a "marble slab" for ice cream mixing!

Creminelli's Sopressata Salami (5.5oz, $12.25)
All of Creminelli's award-winning artisan charcuterie is delicious, but this sopressata — hand-tied and slowly cured in a natural casing — is our very favorite. Garlic and red wine notes give it a robust flavor that's dangerously good.

Old Oil Town 18-yr Style Balsamic Vinegar (5oz, $7.10)
This barrel-aged reserve has got the texture of honey, the complexity of a top shelf single malt, and an unreal sweetness and tang. Toss some on salads, meat, or even fruit.

Old Town Oil Signature Extra Virgin Olive Oil (5oz, $6.70)
This is the good stuff. Classic olive flavors form a mild yet complex base with refined flavor reminiscent of almonds, tomatoes, and fresh herbs. Simply put, it's miles above your normal supermarket fare. Pick up a fresh baguette, tear off a piece, and get to dipping.
My EVOO arrived congeeled because of the cold. It looks like butter in the picture! It's since come back to proper EVOO consistency, but is on the cloudy side now.

Buffalo Trace Bourbon Brittle (2oz, $5)
A smoky and sweet take on peanut brittle made with booze from Buffalo Trace, the oldest continuously operating bourbon distillery in the states. That's because they kept on distilling though prohibition in order to make whiskey for "medicinal purposes".
It should be no surprise that I already opened and ate this. It was okay. I could really taste the butter flavour, and a slight hint of bourbon.

Mustard & Co.Garlic Dill Mustard (4oz, $7)
A minimally processed mustard that's made the old school way. The time honored technique keeps the mustard seed intact to preserve the sharp flavor, then uses quality local ingredients like organic olive oil, fresh dill, and lots of garlic. It makes for a rounded flavor that'll punch up any spread.

Daneson Bourbon No 22 Toothpicks (1 bottle of 12 picks, $9)
You weren't going to eat everything with your fingers, were you? These sleek toothpicks are made from A-grade American white birch and then soaked in six year Kentucky bourbon, so that your cheese and charcuterie gets a boozy nuance.

The November Bespoke Post "Slate" box included seven items, valued around $80! This box cost $65.40 US, with shipping/tax. It's not as high a value as the Refresh box I reviewed the other day, but I still LOVE this box. The slate board will get lots of use when I'm entertaining. I'm already planning a little get together thinking of all the ways I can display my cheese and meats. The salami and toothpicks will be used as stocking stuffers this Christmas. The Bourbon Brittle made a nice snack and the other items will find use in my kitchen. I'm very excited about this box and I'm very glad they brought it back!

  2. This is an amazing box! I got one for someone else, but should've got one for myself too. Oh, and the code was still working when I ordered.
