Awesome Pack is a new Canadian subscription service that "focuses on Awesome Family Fun time". Each month, Awesome Pack sends a box of awesome games and activities for your entire family. Awesome Pack is completely customisable and caters to your family’s size, ages and gender. They also offer a pack for families without kids (Big Kids pack).
We are super excited to launch Awesome Pack  and encourage Awesome family fun time!
When you sign up for Awesome Pack, they want to know your family name and the names, birth dates, & gender of all members of your family. This information helps them customise your pack. You also get to fill out a brief survey outlining what type of games your family enjoys and which games your family already owns so you won't see duplicates.

 First Look!

Awesome Pack arrived via Canada Post in a large box. I estimate that shipping alone covers nearly half the cost of the subscription. (They say "free shipping" but usually that just means it's worked into the price of the subscription.)

The box is totally customised. The welcome letter includes your family name and lists everything included in the pack. Since I don't have kids of my own, I had this pack customised for my sister and her family. The pack is geared towards a family of four with two daughters aged 6 and 4.

Each pack includes an "Awesomely Awesome Activity Book" that includes puzzles and DIY family activity ideas. Along with some larger games and puzzles, there was also a few smaller odds and ends included in the box.

Panini Disney Frozen Sticker Pack (2 packs of 7 stickers, $1.50 x 2)

Adventure Time Finn-Ominoes Domino Game ($5.49)
A 2-player "brain teaser" game for ages 6+. This will be good for my older niece to play with mom or dad.

Disney Frozen Fashems Super Squishy Fun (2 Fashems, $3 x 2)
I have never heard of these before. They are soft, squishy dress-up characters.

4M Design Your Own T-Shirt Transfer Kit ($3.95)
Create your own stylish t-shirt with this colourful kit! Simply draw your design onto the t-shirt transfer sheet, have an adult iron the design onto a plain shirt, and voila - a unique t-shirt designed by you!
This will be a fun activity for the kids. Only problem is that the kit only includes one transfer. Maybe it will be big enough that we can cut it in half. This was probably meant for my younger niece since the domino game is aimed at the older one, but they tend to enjoy the same crafts and activities so this will have to be shared.

4M Mould & Paint Glitter Fairy ($8.95)
Make your own fairy themed fridge magnets or badges. Everything you need is included in this fun kit!
The girls will love this! They are all about crafts these days.

Panini Disney Frozen Sticker Album (2 albums, $5.77 x 2)
As with all girls aged 3 to 12ish, Frozen is a BIG DEAL. They will love these sticker albums. The two sticker packs included go with the albums.

Disney Frozen SPUZZLE ($24.99)
This is a racing puzzle/board game that was created in Canada! It's for ages 4+ and can be played with 1 to 4 players.

My December Awesome Pack, customised for a family of four with two daughters, included ten items with an approximate retail value of $64. This pack costs $52.49 with GST and ships for free! My two nieces (age 4 and 6) will absolutely LOVE everything included in this pack. Anything to do with Frozen or crafts are a hit with them. I really appreciate that Awesome Pack included two of each of the smaller items (stickers/album/Fash'ems) so the girls won't be forced to share and end up fighting (they always end up fighting!). It's also cool that each one received an item just for them (the dominoes for E (age 6) and the T-shirt kit for S (age 4). The SPUZZLE game and the Mould & Paint kit are activities for the entire family and they are things an auntie like myself can participate in as well. This truly is an awesome pack of games and activities. It would make a great gift for a family or even just a child. My only concern is that it's quite pricey for a month-to-month subscription. It would be great if they could offer an option to purchase every other month, or even quarterly. Then again, kids go to so many birthday parties, you could probably take items from your monthly packs and use them towards birthday gifts for other people's kids. This could actually save you money in the long run!

UPDATE: Kat from Awesome Pack contacted me to update that you CAN skip months. Right now if you want to skip, just e-mail them and it will be done manually. In the future, there will be an option to skip a month right from your account page online. This is AWESOME news!

Click here to check out Awesome Pack and if you sign up, use promo code CDNISAWESOME to save $5 off your first pack. Code expires January 31, 2015.

  1. Looks like a great pack for little girls! FYI, they have a Big Kids Pack for adults without kids. I got one this month and it was AWESOME! You can see my review of it here:
