Ipsy Glam Bag Review - November 2014 - Beauty Subscription Bag

This post contains referral links.
What is it? Ipsy Glam Bag
How Much? $10 per month, plus $4.95 shipping to Canada
What’s in it?  4-5 beauty products every month

Ipsy is a San Francisco based beauty subscription that sends a beautiful Glam Bag filled with with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Once you've received your Glam Bag, you can head over to the Ipsy Community to watch tutorial videos and play along with the Ipsy stylists, using the same products they are using.
This month Ipsy shipped on the 12th and arrived on the 19th.  The theme for November is "Girl Meets Glitter".
Why wait for festive fetes and fancy galas to take things up a sparkle or two? Just add glitter, or a generous pinch of shimmer and shine, to elevate your everyday routine and keep you looking and feeling brilliant. That's why we packed this month's Glam Bag with everything you need to leave a little sparkle wherever YOU go. Get ready for your daily grind to "glitterly" dazzle and daze this November!
Something I noticed that is of no significance: The bag this month was sponsored by Forever 21 Cosmetics. I didn't even realize Forever 21 had a cosmetics line. The bag itself sucks. It's PVC plastic and oddly shaped.

J. Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint in Red Potion (0.33oz full size, $4.99)
For invincible color and impeccable wear, the Wonder Lip Paint serves justice! With the twofold blend of endurance and delivery of intense pigmentation, this will become your heroine of lip colors. Paint your lips to perfection for your day and nighttime adventures!
This is very similar to Stila's Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick, but with a much crappier application tip. A lip brush is a definite must, and maybe a lip liner to keep this paint in place.

Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray (1.5oz,  $1.38)
Get extra volume, shine and hold with this dual purpose hairspray; nourishing and styling in one! This argan oil, keratin and grape seed oil infused hairspray gives you strong and flexible hold plus deep nourishment, strengthening and conditioning as you style.

Be a Bombshell Eye Base in Submissive (2.5g full size, $14)
This eye base is a highly pigmented, long-lasting product that can be used as a single cream color or used as an eye base to build color.
I LOVE this. It's a very subtle bronze cream shadow with gold shimmer.

Elizabeth Mott You're so Fine Eyeliner in Glitterati (3g full size, $17.99)
It’s not just any liquid eyeliner. With you’re so FINE’s micro-tipped brush, you can control your strokes to create dramatic, and sharp cat eyes! This brush is so control friendly that creating precise, symmetrical lines is ridiculously easy, so it’s perfect for first time liquid eyeliner users too.
According to Amazon, this is a full size. The striped end is the brush and the black end is the eyeliner pot, so it's a very small amount of product (0.1oz to be exact). I like the sparkly formula, but I hate the brush. It's like a fine tip paint brush. I prefer felt tip liquid liners, but I will keep trying with this one.

Temptu S/B Highlighter in Pink Pearl (3ml sample, $2.75)
A cult favorite of makeup artists around the globe, TEMPTU S/B Highlighter is the perfect product that goes on sheer for an overall illuminating and contouring effect. Light-reflecting and transfer resistant, S/B Highlighter glides on effortlessly for a brilliant complexion boost that contours to highlight your best features.
I'm not familiar with contouring but Ipsy provided some tips so I might as well give it a try.

Here are all my new products swatched... and just like that I have a complete Holiday look!

The November "Girl Meets Glitter" Ipsy Glam Bag included five items valued over $41. I think this is my most favourite Ipsy Glam Bag ever. The hairspray is kind of boring, but the four cosmetics go great together, they are all my colour/style, and they will be perfect for a dramatic look at my upcoming Holiday parties. They aren't products I would have purchased on my own, and at first glance I see some flaws, but I'm looking forward to trying them out and seeing if my opinion changes.

What did you get in your November Ipsy Glam Bag?

  1. Great to hear that you really like this bag and its your favorite so far. Its a nice one to create a holiday look indeed.

  2. liked everything in my bag but the wonder paint, it was trying to put on and you need accuracy not to make a complete mess. I also got the It undereye and I really like that, my fav product in the bag
