How Much? $12/month, $30/quarter, $99/year  plus $3 shipping per box
What's in it? 4-5 samples from your favourite beauty brands

It's Beauty Box 5 time again. I didn't receive a shipping notice this month so I'm not sure when my Beauty Box 5 shipped. Normally it ships around the 15th of the month. According to the customs declaration, I received "Box 3".

The theme for August is "Radiant & Remarkable".
"The golden days of summer may be headed to an end, but you're still shining! This month we're recognizing the brilliant beauty that you are and adding the finishing touches to carry your carefree attitude well into the fall. Embrace beaming skin, dazzling lips, and lustrous locks to keep your glow going."

First look

La Fresh Travel-Lite Oil Free Makeup Remover Wipes (8 wipe pack,  $2.49)
I love wipes. Any kind of wipes are an A+ for me.

pur~lisse pur~protect Essential Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 (15ml, $16.50)
This is the 3rd time I have received this pur~lisse product! The first a sample the same as this on in an Ipsy bag, and the second was a full size from the FabFitFun VIP box. I use sunscreen everyday so no complaints.

Nanacoco Lip Gloss in Popular (full size, $3.99)
This is pretty darn pink and really sticky. Smells nice though, if that's something you look for in a lip gloss.

Novex Brazilian Keratin (30g pouch, >$1)
This is a keratin hair treatment that you massage into hair post-shampooing. I don't like the sample format (foil pouches are hard to use more than once) but I am curious about the product.

Style Essentials Nail Polish ($1.75)
There is no colour listed on the bottle so I guess it's called... silver? It's a no-name polish. Nothing special.

My August Beauty Box 5 contained 5 products with an estimated retail value of $25.75. I'm happy with the products received. The sunscreen and wipes are great. The lip gloss is nice to see, but the colour isn't for me. The polish and hair product are underwhelming, especially since they are so low valued. Another version of this month's box included a 4 ounce sample of hair serum valued at $11.99, instead of the Novex sample I received, which is valued at less than $1. It would be nice if all the different box versions had similar values.

  1. The lipgloss and nail polish looks nice!

    1. The nail polish is nothing special, as I wrote above. It's a cheap no-name. The gloss looks nice but is sticky and doesn't last long. Unfortunately I have nothing positive to say about those two items.

  2. I am loving your blog so much! I haven't been able to find many Canadian beauty box bloggers or youtubers, so I was very happy to find yours. Yesterday I went back and read all of your entries, and I am a bit surprised to see that BB5 gives some form of wipes every month! I just signed up, so I guess I won't need to buy makeup wipes for a long time then.
How have you found La Fresh wipes to be over all?

Also I am really looking forward to trying out the hair treatment, despite its low value, because I really didn't like the Eva NYC hair treatment from the May Ipsy bag. Have you tried that one yet?

    1. Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I've only received La Fresh from BB5 (that I can remember) but I love wipes so can't complain. I didn't receive the Eva NY hair product in my ipsy bag so can't comment on that one.

  3. I prefer the Ipsy bag as its only 10 bucks and you get 4-5 items and a makeup bag! Last month I got the Urban Decay perversion Mascara and its Insane! Here's a link if you want to have a looky :)

  4. I've been subscribed to ipsy for 2 years and have over 2 dozen reviews posted on my blog already. Please do not post your own referral links on my page. Thanks.
