Little Life Box Review - May 2014 - Canadian Health Conscious Subscription Box

This box was received complimentary for review.

What is it? Little Life Box
How Much? $19.99 per month plus $3.75 shipping. Save on 3, 6, or 12 month subscriptions.
What’s in it?  Over a dozen organic, natural health conscious samples. Vegan box available as well.
I first introduced you to Little Life Box in December of last year. It was a brand new healthy snack and supplement box, based out of Quebec. After a few months in business. Little Life Box has made some minor changes, and offered to send me another box for review.

The first change I noticed is the website. It's more professional looking and loaded with information and photos. The pricing model remains the same, but the shipping cost increased by 75 cents. The true cost of shipping the box is upwards of $10, depending on destination, so $3.75 per box, Canada wide, is quite a deal. The last significant change to note is that Little Life Box now has a Vegan box option.

As with my last box, everything was packaged with care and wrapped in fun tissue paper.

Little Life Box does not include a product card. Instead they list the products online. The products page isn't organized by month, nor is it alphabetical, so it's tedious to scroll through and track down the right product. The details in the product write ups are very thorough and include links for where to buy the products.

Deep River Snacks Rosemary & Olive Oil Kettle Cooked Potato Chips (1oz, $0.44)

Crunchmaster Multi-Seed Crackers (0.5oz, $0.85)

EFFFI gold Exclusive (2ml sample, $3)

Palmetto Derma (40% off coupon code)
Palmetto sells anti-aging serums that are organic, natural, and paraben/sulphate free. The products start at $38. It would have been nice to have a sample to go along with the promo.

Sow Good Natural Face & Body Polish (10ml sample, $0.36)

OneCoffee Organic Single Serve K-Cups Ethiopian Blend (2 K-Cups, $1.67)
This is an odd thing to include. I guess they are assuming most people will have a Keurig machine necessary to use this product. I have a Tassimo and these are not compatible, so they will be gifted.

Natur-a Soy Beverage in Cappuccino (200ml, $0.85)

North Coast Organic Apple Sauce (90g pouch, $1.49)

Maison Orphee Unrefined Toasted Sesame Oil (50ml, $1.00)

Pure-le Natural Liquid Greens in Mint Liquid Chlorophyll (45ml, $1.98)

Ener-C Vitamin Drink Mix (3 packets, $1.70)
I received these in the December box too. On the subject of duplicates, Little Life Box promises you won't get the same product twice within a year, unless it's a different flavour or variety.

Ultimate Calorie Burn (90 capsules - full size, $34.99)
This is a full size bottle and makes up the bulk of the box value.

Montagne Jeunesse Pulped Pomegranate Red Earth Clay Spa Sheet Mask (1 mask, $1.99)

May's Little Life Box included 12 samples, valued at $50.32. The bulk of the value comes from the Calorie Burn pills. Without that full size bottle, the estimated retail value of the other 11 items is only $15.33, which is less than the $19.99 monthly fee. I have mixed feelings on this box. I really like the concept of healthy snacks, supplements, beauty, and skin care items all in one box, but I feel like there should be more of some things and less than others. More all around value would be nice, rather than the bulk of the value being in one item. Multiples of the small samples would be another request. Lastly, and this is a personal preference, but I would also prefer to see less beauty products and more snack/food items, or perhaps more variety with the beauty products. Three of my twelve items are facial skin care products. Overall I like the box and will get use out of the majority of the items received. I've already tried the chips and crackers. This box is very similar to Bulu Box, which no longer ships to Canada. If you have been looking for an alternative to Bulu Box or Bestowed, this might be the box for you.

  1. I don't want pills or anything like that. Would you suggest this box? I see they have a one month trail.... I'll do some more research on them.... Ps - love your blog.

    1. If you aren't interested in supplements, this may not be the right box for you... I'm not keen on the Calorie Burn pills either since they are pretty much just caffeine pills. Check out my review of the December box to see what other sorts of products you may receive: http://cdnboxaddict.blogspot.ca/2013/12/little-life-box-review-december-2013.html
