Topbox Review - February 2014 - Beauty Subscription Box

What is it? Topbox
How Much? $12 per month, shipping included
What’s in it?  4 deluxe beauty samples

It's Topbox time! This month my Topbox shipped on February 14th and arrived February 17th.  I opted for a regular box.

My January box included a duplicate item from a previous month, so I was promised an extra product this month.

At first look, I was excited. So many awesome looking products! I could tell right away the value this month was going to be huge.

This FULL SIZE Deborah Lippman nail lacquer is my replacement product. Last month I received a set of Belvada tweezers, which was a dupe to a set I received in August. Topbox is usually great about not including duplicates so when I e-mailed about the duplicate, they offered to send an extra product in my February box. I had no idea it would be something like this! The colour is "Since I Fell For You" and it's a gorgeous shimmering red. The retail value is $20 (CDN), although you can find it for less all over the interwebs as it's from an older collection.

So Susan Water Based Pure Luminizer (15g FULL SIZE, $46)
I love the packaging on this product. It's a illuminating primer similar that, I think, could be comparable to Benefit's High Beam.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant (30ml, $15)
This product is described as a 'legendary beauty secret'. Use it to add shine to eyelids, cheeks, and lips, or shape eyebrows for the perfect arch. Read here for more uses. Interesting indeed! A full size is 50ml and retails for $25.

Zyderma HS Antimicrobial Clarifying Cream (30ml, $25)
I previously received the Zyderma Clarifying Cleanser in my September 2013 Topbox. I can't say I was impressed by the product. This product is available in 30ml, 60ml, and 120ml sizes for $25, $59.95, and $99.95 respectively.

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara (2.8ml, $12.33 ) and Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss in Rock Candy (4.5 ml, $19.50)
I love double duty products like this, but this double ended mascara & lip gloss is not actually available for sale. It's a promo item that Estee Lauder includes in their bonus bags. A full size of each product is 6ml and retails for $26.

My February Topbox included 4 products, plus a bonus product due to an issue with the January box. The retail value of the four products from February is a whopping $117.83, not including the bonus nail polish. I only paid $12 plus tax for this box ($13.44 in BC). This is the highest value Topbox I have ever received so I am super impressed with it. Product wise, I love the mascara/lip gloss duo. It will be great for travel and on-the-go. I'm looking forward to trying to So Susan and Elizabeth Arden products.

What did you get in your February Topbox?

    1. I think we were lucky compared to some versions I've seen reviewed. Makes up for some of the bad months!

  2. Looks like great stuff! I just took a makeup workshop this past weekend, so I'm anxiously awaiting my place off the wait list!

    1. When you finally get your chance please come back and let me know how long it took. Last I heard the wait was 6-8 weeks so I'm curious to see where it is at now. :)

  3. I got the exact same box and absolutely love everything - BUT the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream is a duplicate from December for me. I emailed and will be getting something extra next month. I like it though - so I don't mind having two. I have never used it on my face as the product card says to - I have been using it on my hands (I have horribly dry hands from work) and super dry skin patches. The luminizer is really nice so far too, and you can't beat getting mascara and gloss in one!!

    1. I'm not sure I will use it on my face either... maybe on my super dry knees and elbows!
