This is a unplanned box review. I purchased gift subscriptions to Kiwi Crate for my niece's Christmas presents I recently spent the day with my nearly-3-year old niece Sydney so we worked on the December Kiwi Crate.

The theme of the December Kiwi Crate was "Polar Expedition" and included crafts and learning activities relating to the Arctic and winter.

First look

The first activity was  "My Snowball Toss". The projects are rated on "messiness" and "grownup involvement" scales. This one was low on messiness and medium on grownup involvement. The project involved stitching together felt pieces (using a shoe lace and pre-drilled holes), and applying felt stickers to create paws and ears. We then…

Razor Blade Club Review - Grooming Subscription Service

What is it? Razor Blade Club How Much? $7 per month, shipping included What’s in it? First month includes an ergonomic handle and four 3-blade cartridges, then four cartridges per month.
I'm not sure why I didn't sign up for a monthly razor club sooner. I seem to always be out of razor blades and they are the most expensive thing on my shopping list week to week. A four-pack of national brand cartridges costs fifteen to twenty dollars. It's ridiculous!

There are a few discount shave club services on the market. I opted for Razor Blade Club because it's Canadian, based in Richmond, British Columbia.

Razor Blade Club markets the service to men and women, even though the razor's seem to be designed for men. This doesn't bother me at all. I don't know about you, but I don't need a girly colour, moisturizing bars, or a pleasing scent. All I need is a good quality razor to get the job done. Razor Blade Club delivers, literally.

The first monthly package is se…

Topbox Review - January 2014 - Beauty Subscription Box

What is it?Topbox How Much? $12 per month, shipping included
What’s in it?  4 deluxe beauty samples
January marks the first month of the new Topbox shipping schedule. From now on, they will be shipping on the 15th of the month instead of the 10th. As always, the Topbox Crew was very good about informing subscribers of the change. First they announced it in December, then they sent a reminder e-mail the first week of January. My box shipped January 15th and arrived January 17th.
I received a regular box this month. I don't even remember what the wish list options were for January.  Usually I find the wish list boxes don't appeal to me very much, aside from the great Givenchy box in December.

I don't know about you, but I like to look at the products before reading the product card. It's more of a fun surprise this way!

Ipsy Glam Bag Review - January 2014 - Beauty Subscription Bag

What is it?Ipsy Glam Bag
How Much? $10 per month, plus $4.95 shipping to Canada
What’s in it?  4-5 beauty products every month  My Ipsy bag arrived in a large kraft-paper style bubble mailer this month. I was very curious to see what I received that would require such a large package!

I almost forgot I had ordered one of the Ipsy Bonus items using my Ipsy points. This KISS Salon Secrets Nail Art Starter Kit is worth $20 and I received it for free with 1000 Ipsy points! Ipsters can receive Ipsy Points by referring friends and by complete product review surveys each month.

I'm going to save this kit for my teenage cousin. I'm sure she will love it!

The theme of the January Ipsy bag is "19 Reasons", I guess because there were 19 different products featured in the January bags. There's also a contest. If I fill out the reason why my 2014 will be amazing and share on Instagram, I could win a year subscription to Ipsy! I just might participate in this one. I just need…
