Phone Case of the Month Review - Cellular Case Subscription

** As of October 2016, Phone Case of the Month is closed. **
What is it? Phone Case of the Month
How Much? $10 per month, plus $5 shipping to Canada
What’s in it?  A one of a kind phone case plus neat little surprises

I never cared about my phone case until I got my first iPhone: a shiny white iPhone 5. I wanted to show it off, not hide it like when I had an ancient Blackberry. What better way to show off your baby than with a fancy case? My phone is still fairly new and I don't have a lot of spare cases. The one I use regularly cost $40, so I wasn't about to run out and buy a whole iPhone case wardrobe. When Phone Case of the Month offered to send me a case to try out, I jumped at the chance.

The case is shipped in a bubble mailer and arrives in the little drawstring pouch pictured above. Inside the pouch I found my case, an info card, and a packet of Jolly Ranchers.

Phone Case of the Month produces cases for iPhone 4, 4s, 5, and 5s. Each case is $10 per month, plus $5 shipping to Canada. For $15 per month, you get a high quality, limited edition case for your precious iPhone!  Considering many cases can be $20 or more (or mine that was $40!), $15 is a bargain. The subscription is on a month-to-month basis and you can cancel any time.

All the phone cases are designed in house, with only 200 of each design printed. These cases are truly unique and limited edition. You won't find anything like them anywhere else. And the friend of yours that likes to pinch your style? She will never have the same case as you, you can bet on that.

As for the technical stuff...
We ship cases made of Poly Carbonate and ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) with a silicone coating for a soft to the touch feel. Sounds fancy huh? Printing is done using water transfer printing technology for a seamless edge to edge print. The cases are low profile and do not have a lip on the top edge of the phone. Bottom line is that we produce phone cases that feel good.
The phone does feel good. It isn't plasticy feeling and the silicone coating makes it easy to grip. I like the low profile and the edge to edge printing is a nice touch. My one complaint is that there appears to be a flaw on the case I received. See the round mark next to the "P"? I'm really confused by it. It isn't raised, or indented. It doesn't show through on the inside. I'm not sure what it is and how it ended up there.

Regardless of the mystery circle, I am really pleased with my phone case from Phone Case of the Month. I've had it on my iPhone for over 24 hours and I really like it. I love so many of the designs on their website and Twitter banner. I love the owl one and the moustache one. I think I will sign up for this one in January as a Christmas gift to myself. And on the odd month I don't love the case? That's easy. They make great gifts!

What do you think of Phone Case of the Month?

  1. I was thinking about getting this. I haven't because I'm notoriously picky when it comes to iphone case designs. But it's becoming harder and harder to find 4S sized cases nowadays.

  2. The phone fixes feel good. It isn't plastic feeling and the silicone coating makes it relaxed to clasp. I like the little outline and the edge to advantage printing is a nice trace cell phone faceplates
