Wantable Makeup Box Review - July 2013 - Beauty Subscription Box

What is it? Wantable
How Much? $36 monthly or $40 one time purchase, plus approximately $10 shipping
What's in it? Makeup box includes 4-6 full-size premium makeup products. Jewellery box includes 4-5 boutique jewellery pieces. All are picked to match your profile preferences.

I wasn't planning on purchasing a July Wantable box (makeup or jewellery) but Wantable offered a 20% off promo so I decided to sign up for the Makeup box to try it out. Reviews I've seen over the past couple months have been pretty great.

First look

Over packaged, just as with the June Jewelry Box. Tissue, crinkle paper, more tissue, and foam padding.

The info sheet said the July Makeup Box is "all about nails, nails, nails!". I put a wrench in that by indicating in my profile that I "dislike" nail products. I have way too many polishes and have no need for more.

Bonus - Frownies Eye Gels (1 set, $10 )
I've heard lots about Frownies so I am very excited to get a pair to try. These last 2 to 3 uses.

Three Custom Color Simple Beautiful Cheek Tint ($22)
I like this colour but I dislike cream blush. I wonder if it would work as a lip stain.

Lise Watier Eyebrow Essentials in Brunette ($23)
This is a handy little kit, complete with mini tweezers.

Manna Kadar Transfix, Eye shadow-Eyeliner Transformer ($19)
The info sheet says this is black eyeliner, but it is actually a solution to make eye
shawdow into smudge proof eyeliner. I used to have a Shashbox product like this but I never used it. I don't wear a lot of eyeliner so this may find the gift pile.

29 Cosmetics D'Vine Mascara in Brown ($26)
I am most excited for this mascara. Several people on the MUT forums commented that 29 Cosmetics is their "holy grail" mascara. And I'm super happy to get it in brown. Sometimes black is a little to harsh when I am going for a more natural look.

Cala Retractable Lip Brush ($8)
I already have a really great lip brush so this will find the gift pile as well.

I received 6 products with an estimated value of $108! One thing is sure, Wantable always has great value boxes. I received products with a value of more than double what I paid, and everything is full size. I'm not super happy with the products though. I think I restricted my beauty profile so much that it really limited my options. I will definitely use the mascara and the Frownies and I will give the blush a try because I like the colour so much. The other three products will be saved for gifts.

Did you get a July Wantable Makeup Box? What did you get?

  1. At least the products are full sized and you can save them for gifts. I wouldn't be able to get away with giving samples that I don't like from Beauty Box Five, ha. Of the products you received, I'd probably use 4 of the six items, which is pretty darn good!

  2. I love Wantable! I got both the jewlery and the makeup boxes for the first time this month, and I was over the moon. After being so disappointed in Beauty Box Five, I was beyond thrilled with Wantable. Like you, I also said I "dislike" nail polish in my profile, because my Julep subscription gives me way more nail polish than I can ever use.

So in my makeup box I got: FACE Stockholm Blush "Delightful" (it's a pressed-powder blush in a "dusty, poppy shade" - LOVE!); Lise Watier Ombre Souffle Supreme "Sunrise Peach" (gorgeous creamy mousse eyeshadow - LOVE!); Brazen Cosmetics Loose Brow Powder "Jane" (matte brow powder in a dark brown - I'm eager to try this); FACE Stockholm Volumizing Mascara "Black" (I'm always looking for new mascara to try, and I only ever wear black, so... Yay!); and the free Frownies Eye Gels.

Seriously, I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to see what's in next month's box!
