Seasons Box Review - May 2013 - Eco-Lifestyle Subscription Box

*This box is closed*
What is it? Seasons Box
How Much? $34.90 monthly, $99.70 quarterly, $174.50 semi-annually, $349 yearly.
What's in it? 3-5 luxurious full size seasonal must-have products for your home, body and spirit

The May box is all about pampering yourself. The theme of  is SeasonsBox is Celebrate Mothers. Celebrate Women.  The box is filled with "Eco-friendly and stylish indulgences that are sure to make every woman feel pampered".

Now that SeasonsBox has relocated operations from Canada to Atlanta, Georgia, shipping takes forever! Unfortunately this box shipped late, with a batch that went out on May 20th. It didn't make it to Canada until June 2nd, and arrived at my door June 4th. I really wish SeasonsBox could find a way to ensure the boxes destined for Canada go out on time (or early even) since it takes so much longer for them to arrive.

Now for the contents...

Gourmet Body Treats Natural Eye Shadow in Chiffon ($18.99)
Gourmet Body Treats are 100% vegan and their products are crafted by hand in small batches – no mass production here! Their goal is to show that it is possible to make safe and fabulous cosmetics.

Holy smokes is this eye shadow ever expensive! I would not purchase this again, only because of the cost. I received "Chiffon" which is a very neutral, almost light peachy colour.

Deep Steep Natural Body Wash ($9.95)
Formulated with certified organic essential oils, Deep Steep products are 100% natural and cruelty free. Best of all, their products reveal clean, nourished, and silky skin.

I recently bought a Deep Steep lotion at Home Sense (for $5.99) and I absolutely love it. I picked up the Tangerine Melon scent and it smells amazing. If not for SeasonBox, I probably never would have picked up the box because prior to SeasonBox, I had never heard of Deep Steep.

Priti NYC Natural Nail Polish in Belle Courtisane ($13.50)
Founded by Kim D'Amato, Priti NYC developed during her pregnancy and the desire to have an organic beauty regime. We think that her commitment to creating non-toxic, Eco-friendly nail polishes is “priti” amazing.

More nail polish! It seems like the go-to product for all beauty & subscription boxes. I'm always happy to add more polishes to my collection but I'm not digging pastels this season so this one will probably be added to my gift pile. Although I do like this purple shade. It has a hint of sparkle.

ZEN-ful Natural Rose Bath Bomb ($5.25)
ZEN-ful bath bombs are completely natural. And since rose petals are not very high in oil content, it takes several thousand pounds of rose petals to produce just one ounce of this valuable oil, making each bath bomb a true treasure.

I am addicted to rose infused products right now. I use plain rose water on my skin daily and Fresh Rose Face Mask weekly. I find rose water so soothing and refreshing so I'm looking forward to using this in the tub. Rose is not my favourite scent though so that is the only downside.

I paid approximately $29 for the box (with a 6 month subscription) and received approximately $48 worth of products. It's not my favourite collection of products SeasonsBox has put out, but I'm happy with the products received. I will use everything. That aside, I hope SeasonsBox goes back to sending out great collections of lifestyle products and not so many beauty products. So far the June box reveal looks promising!

  1. My Seasonsbox should come sometime this week. I can't wait.

    Blueariel's Beauty

    1. The products are quite nice. I can't wait to have a spa day!

  2. The bath bomb looks awesome! I bet that it would make for an amazing bath.

    1. I'm hoping to use it this weekend!

  3. I skipped May. I am really looking forward to the June box.

    1. The June box looks great! As for the skipping, apparently they have sorted out the issues with credit card processing and pre-paid users will be able to skip again. Good news for many!

    2. I hope (like you, I think) that they stick to lifestyle products in future. If they are going to include make-up items, I hope it will be more generic like scrubs and oils that don't involve colours or shades that are not for everyone. Still, my favourite box so far ... and there will always be ups and downs/hits and misses with every subscription. So happy to have the skipping option back in play; I really like having that choice available.
