New Subscription Box - Bonjour Jolie

There's a new "time of the month" subscription service launching in May and this one ships to Canada! At first I thought it might be a Canadian company since the name is French, but Bonjour Jolie is actually based in sunny Florida!
Bonjour Jolie is run by a mother-daughter team and promises to provide you with "what you need, as well as what you want, to sail through your monthly period with ease". Each monthly box will contain feminine products of your choice, specialty bath & body items, gifts, teas and chocolates. They also offer boxes aimed at teenagers.
To start your subscirption, you fill out a "period profile", letting Bonjour Jolie know the date of your next period, the length of your cycle and the level of your flow. Next you select your feminine products. You can choose any combination of pads, tampons or pantyliners, in various sizes, up to a maximum of 30 units. Bonjour Jolie supplies national leading brands that you know…

Glymm - Officially Out of Business

After nearly two months of confusion, frustration, anger from subscribers and silence from Glymm, the beauty box company from Quebec finally sent subscribers notification that they have shut down the business.

Goodbye from Glymm

I was not a Gymm subscriber, but I still find it completely insulting that their e-mail made no mention of client refunds. The last box shipped was February. Many commentators on the Facebook page noted Glymm had already processed their credit cards for April and May payments, despite obvious issues with the company and missing the March box. Hopefully subscribers will be able to take the business closure confirmation to their credit card companies and get full refunds.

You can read more about the Glymm fiasco here, at Petite Pear Style.

What does this mean for other subscription box services and subscribers? I'm not really sure. Quite honestly, the subscription box business model does not seem sustainable over the long term. There have been a few servi…

Julep Maven Review - April 2013 - Beauty Subscription Box

My April Julep Maven box arrived today and I am so excited to try these new products!

Bombshell: Get two limited-edition nail colors and one full-size beauty product in every box.
Classic with a Twist: Get two limited-edition nail colors and one full-size beauty product in every box.
It Girl: Get three limited-edition nail colors in every box. I opted to stick with the Modern Beauty box this month. I don't have a huge need for more polishes right now and the two products offered in the MB box for April were super appealing.

Even though I know in advance what is going to be in the box, the un-boxing and first reveal is still fun and exciting!

What’s in it?  4 deluxe beauty samples I received the shipping notification e-mail this morning at 8:41am. The box was shipped from Toronto yesterday. I expected the box would arrive tomorrow. To my surprise and delight, I received another e-mail at 10:41am, from Canada Post, alerting me that my box had been delivered. I raced downstairs to my condo mailbox to find the signature Kraft paper wrapped tube in my slot.

Topbox, by far, has the quickest shipping on any subscription box I've seen. Not only that, but they April Topbox shipped EARLY! Topbox promises to ship on the 10th of every month. This month they started shipping on the 7th and 8th, ensuring most customers would receive theirs before the 10th. That's impressive. At this point, I hadn't even opened my box yet and I was thrilled.

As with the past few months, Topbox offered a chance for customers to receive one of two P…

Sweet Delights Divalicious Sample Box Review - April 2013

The Spring edition of the Sweet Delights Divalicious Sample Box went on sale at 5:00 PST on March 26th. I was lucky enough to be at work so I didn't need to set my alarm and roll out of bed just to buy the box. Apparently this box is pretty coveted and sells out almost instantly. The website says that this season's box sold out in about 5 minutes. The box promises 10-15 full-size and sample size products from a mix of contributors, relating to bath, beauty and style products. Without further ado, here is a peek inside my Divalicious Sample Box:

Also shown is the Spring Trends pamphlet, not to be confused with a product card. See my comments on the inclusion of the Spring Trends pamphlet after the jump at the end of this post.

And finally, the goods! I received seven samples. Five are considered "deluxe" and two are considered "full-size". Let's get into it...
